Working back from foot injury
Jones was dealing with a foot injury during New Mexico's abbreviated spring program, Steve Virgen of the Albuquerque Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
The injury doesn't sound like something that will jeopardize his availability for the start of the 2020 season, so expect to see Jones on the field in New Mexico's Aug. 29 opener versus FCS Idaho State. Marcus Williams and Kyle Jarvis are expected to head to fall camp as the Nos. 1 and 2 options on the depth chart at tight end, but Jones is also a candidate to see reps at receiver as the Lobos look to take advantage of the 6-foot-5 senior's pass-catching skills.
