ANALYSIS
Since Ruff joined the Wildcats as a walk-on in 2017, he'll be eligible to compete immediately at his next stop, assuming he isn't put on scholarship by another FBS school. The running back didn't see any action as a redshirt freshman in 2018 and likely would have been in line for a minimal role out of the backfield at best if he had stuck around in Manhattan. The Wildcats brought in three transfers (James Gilbert, Harry Trotter and Jordon Brown) and three true freshman (Thomas Grayson, Clyde Price and Joe Ervin) that all likely would have slotted ahead of Ruff on the depth chart under first-year head coach Chris Klieman.
