Sparks committed Tuesday to Minnesota, joining the program as a transfer from Louisiana-Monroe, Sean Williams of Rivals.com reports.

Sparks will make the jump from the Group of Five to the Power Five ranks after he established himself as one of the Sun Belt's top punters as a true freshman. He averaged 44.6 yards per boot in 2020, good for the second-best mark in the conference. Sparks will have four years of eligibility remaining heading into 2021, though he could need a waiver from the NCAA in order to compete for the Gophers right away.
