Unfortunately for Johnson, much of his services were not needed for SMU to win the AAC Championship. That is unfortunate for the sophomore, who blossomed with 41 carries and 221 yards for multiple touchdowns across his last two regular-season games. Still, that two-game span was much better than what he logged from 2021 to 2022. Combine the two games with his others and a conference championship, and Johnson's 2023 is a success nonetheless.
