Running BackRB
2023 Fantasy Outlook
There was no outlook written for Chris Polk in 2023. Check out the latest news below for more on his current fantasy value.
January 7, 2012
Polk will enter the 2012 NFL Draft, ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Polk is expected to be a second or third-round pick. The Washington runner was hugely productive in 2011, running for 1,488 yards and 12 touchdowns (5.1 YPC) and catching 31 passes for 332 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games. He isn't Trent Richardson, but Polk possesses excellent strength as a runner, and has good explosiveness and speed to go along with it. He runs rather upright and doesn't have the quickest short-area movement, but there's generally not much to dislike about Polk. Jesse Callier, Bishop Sankey and Deontae Cooper are all candidates to emerge as Washington's next top runner.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2011
2010
Polk finished last season in a brilliant fashion, running for 685 yards and five touchdowns in his last four games. But things might get tougher in 2011, as the loss of quarterback Jake Locker means defenses will be able to sell out against the run. Polk’s value is further limited by his lack of touchdowns—his total of 14 rushing touchdowns in his last 25 games is decent, but it doesn’t stand out.
Polk enjoyed a very successful freshman season, running for 1,113 yards and five touchdowns with a 4.92 yards per carry average. Although Polk demonstrated his talent last year, his workload might decrease slightly in 2010. He was the only legitimate ballcarrier for Washington last year, so he had a monopoly on the carries. Washington snagged another big-time recruit at the running back position in Deontae Cooper, and he could make an immediate impact. Polk should remain as the top back in Washington, but something resembling a timeshare could occur this year.
