If it weren't for injury issues, Michael would be one of the nation's elite fantasy options heading into 2012. He's a top talent nationwide and the clear starting player for what should be a decent offense, but he suffered a torn ACL in November. That rare talent of his reportedly is granting him an exceptionally fast recovery, and he looks close to 100 percent heading into September.
Michael led the team as a freshman by running for 844 yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging 5.08 yards per carry. The former five-star recruit was everything the team hoped for in 2009, and he'd be a top fantasy back nationwide if it weren't for the presence of Cyrus Gray, a big-time recruit himself. Michael also needs to cut down on his fumbles if he wants to stay on the field. He should be a top running back option in Big 12-only leagues and is worth a pick in all other formats, too.
