CFB Waiver Wire: Players to Pick Up Week 10

This article is part of our CFB Waiver Wire series.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC

James Flanders, RB, Tulsa: Flanders was unstoppable versus Memphis on Saturday with a career-high 249 yards and five touchdowns on 33 carries. The five scores was an American Athletic Conference record for most touchdowns in a game. That should warrant him at least a start as he goes for his fifth 100-yard rushing game of the season when Tulsa takes on East Carolina who is giving up near 200ly rushing yards per game.

James Proche, WR, SMU: Proche caught six passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns Saturday to give the freshman 41 grabs for 548 yards and four touchdowns on the season. Proche has caught at least six passes in five of nine games this year, and with Memphis' easygoing defense coming up this week, he'll have another chance to shine.

ACC

Tabari Hines, WR, Wake Forest: Hines was Wake Forest's lone bright spot on offense in a 21-13 loss to Army as the sophomore receiver pulled in seven catches for 79 yards and a touchdown. This week, Hines goes up against Virginia, who's giving up over 450 yards of total offense each week. Even though they kept it close with Louisville, Virginia still gave up 361 yards through the air which means Hines should get his chances in the passing game.

Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson: Leggett has been one of Clemson's best players over their last five games with 19 catches for 345 yards and four touchdowns. He made an athletic touchdown

Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson: Leggett has been one of Clemson's best players over their last five games with 19 catches for 345 yards and four touchdowns. He made an athletic touchdown in the impressive 37-34 win at Florida State and should have another score versus Syracuse this week.

BIG 12

KaVontae Turpin, WR, TCU: Turpin made his return from a knee injury and logged only four catches for 39 yards as the TCU offense continues to struggle to find decent quarterback play from Kenny Hill. Even if Hill doesn't turn his game around, Turpin is electric enough to find a way to make a big play. It's also possible that Turpin will see more time in the backfield at Baylor this week if starting running back Kyle Hicks can't come back from an injury.

Shane Buechele, QB, Texas: The freshman has been on this list before but has yet to have many breakout games with three or more touchdown passes in only two games this season. While the huge games haven't been there, he has been consistently good with 17 touchdowns and only six interceptions. Buechele will have the deep ball zipping around against Texas Tech this week, making him a must-start.

BIG TEN

Rodney Smith, RB, Minnesota: The Golden Gophers are the Big Ten team no one is talking about which includes their impressive sophomore running back. Smith has a current streak of three 100-yard rushing games and a total of 10 rushing touchdowns on the season. He'll have no problem extending that streak against a Purdue team that gives up a ton of rushing yards.

Devine Redding, RB, Indiana: Redding logged his fourth 100-yard game of the season in Saturday's 42-36 win over Maryland. The junior back has double-digit carries in every game this year and now gets a Rutgers team that gives up even more rushing yards per game than the Purdue team mentioned above at 261.1 yards per game (sixth worst in the nation).

CONFERENCE USA

Kalib Woods, WR, FAU: Woods is the top receiver in a lackluster Florida Atlantic pass offense, which will end up looking competent against a bad Rice defense this week. Woods should be able to build on his season of 44 catches for 615 yards and one touchdown.

Nick Mullens, QB, Southern Miss: In his past two games versus LSU and Marshall, Mullens has only a single touchdown pass. Take advantage of fantasy owners who cut ties with the senior signal caller thanks to a couple of tough weeks as the Golden Eagles play a Charlotte team giving up 294.8 passing yards per game this week.

MAC

Joel Bouagnon, RB, Northern Illinois: The MAC will debut their famous Tuesday Night games on Nov. 1. Go out and pick up Bouagnon against a horrible Bowling Green defense that's giving up 219 yards per game on the ground. Bouagnon will have to compete with quarterback Anthony Maddie for carries, but there should be enough production to satisfy all fantasy owners.

Kareem Hunt, RB, Toledo: With Hunt failing to eclipse 100 yards in each of his past three games and only one touchdown over that span, fantasy owners have cooled on the dynamic back. If he's been dropped in your fantasy league, pick him up immediately as Toledo will play Akron on Wednesday Night. Akron has the 17th worst rush defense (228.7 yards per game allowed) and Hunt has received at least 15 carries in every game this season. Moreover, Hunt has three or more catches in five different games this year.

MOUNTAIN WEST

Juwan Washington, RB, San Diego State: Washington backs up superstar Donnel Pumphrey and is worth a play when the Aztecs play horrible rush defenses. On Saturday versus Utah State, Pumphrey ran for 223 yards on 32 carries while Washington racked up 137 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. This week, San Diego State will play Hawaii who is giving up 255.1 rushing yards per game. Washington should see enough work if you're in a pinch at running back.

Kent Myers, QB, Utah State: Myers and Utah State will play Wyoming, a team fresh off a physical battle with Boise State. Wyoming is giving up 445 yards of total offense per game which should allow Myers to work within the offense and account for more than one touchdown, something he's done only three times this season.

PAC-12

Sam Darnold, QB, USC: Darnold has been in this column a couple of times. If he hasn't yet been picked up, go and get him for the Trojans' upcoming matchup with Oregon, as the Ducks are giving up 530 yards per game. Other Trojans worth considering this week are RB Ronald Jones, RB Aca'Cedric Ware and WR Darreus Rogers.

Jamal Morrow, RB, Washington State: Even though Morrow has only one 100-yard rushing game this season, the junior does enough in the passing game with 37 catches for 342 yards and four touchdowns to make him worth considering in fantasy – especially this week against an Arizona team that gives up 458 yards per game.

SEC

Rico Dowdle, RB, South Carolina: The freshman running back received his first career start Saturday and rumbled for 127 yards on 27 carries en route to a 24-21 upset of Tennessee. Dowdle has scored a touchdown in three straight games and now gets to go up against Missouri who owns the SEC's worst rush defense.

Josh Reynolds, WR, Texas A&M: Reynolds has been the Aggies' most consistent option on offense this season with 30 catches for 586 yards and six touchdowns. Reynolds and quarterback Trevor Knight shouldn't have a problem connecting on multiple occasions against a Mississippi State team who gave up 468 passing yards to Samford on Saturday.

SUN BELT

Xavier Johnson, RB, South Alabama: Here's another installment of picking whatever running back is going up against Louisiana Monroe's rush defense that gives up 280.1 yards per game. Johnson has been particularly hot lately with five touchdowns in his last four games played.

Taylor Lamb, QB, Appalachian State: Typically, it's running backs Marcus Cox and Jalen Moore who carve up opposing defenses for the Mountaineers. This week, it will be Lamb as Texas State is allowing opposing quarterbacks to throw for 265.3 yards per game. Even if Lamb doesn't get up to those numbers, he has provided three rushing scores in his last two games.
