Sri Lanka will be eyeing their first win in the ongoing five-match series when they will England in the fifth ODI in Colombo on Tuesday. So far, the series has been affected due to bad weather as not a single match was completed in the normal circumstance.
The home side put on a much better show in the previous ODI, when they posted a more than competitive total of 273-7, but once again, rain ended the game prematurely when the game was rather evenly poised.
In the final game, the Islanders will be hoping that their batting will once again display some consistency to put up another decent show. In the bowling department, apart from off-spinner Akila Dananjaya, no bowler showed up in the fourth ODI and the team management will be hoping for an improved show there as well.
On the other hand, after securing the series, the visitors are expected to have a number of changes in the playing eleven.
The pitch is expected to be on the slower side and will expect to get slower as the day goes on. The highest total of 375-5 on the venue was registered by India against Sri Lanka in 2017, whereas the lowest score of 86 was registered by Netherlands in 2002-03.
