Dhaka Dynamites and Rangpur Riders are ready to face off in the second Qualifier of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in Dhaka on Wednesday. The clash will be a virtual semi-final as the winner will face Comilla Victorians in the grand finale on Friday. In the team's previous two meetings earlier in the competition, it was the Dynamites who won in the first match by two runs, whereas it was the Riders who came out on top by eight wickets margin in the second game.
Dynamites will come in the match high on confidence as they managed to register a six-wicket win against Chittagong Vikings in the only Eliminator to stay alive in the competition. In the batting department, the team will be relying on the likes of captain Shakib-Al-Hasan, in-form Upul Tharanga and West Indies explosive all-rounder Kieron Pollard to score bulk of the runs, whereas in the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Sunil Narine and Andre Russell to provide timely breakthroughs.
On the other hand, Riders will be coming in to the match knowing they will have to put a much better show than they did in their previous match against Victorians. In the batting department, the team will be relying on the likes of Chris Gayle, Mohammad Mithun and Rilee Rossouw to score bulk of the runs, whereas in the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Mashrafe Mortaza, Sohag Gazi and Shafi-Ul-Islam to provide timely breakthroughs.
