Weekly Rankings: Week 3 Value Meter

Weekly Rankings: Week 3 Value Meter

This article is part of our Weekly Rankings series.

Sunday Update complete.

Here are my rankings (if you want a second opinion, please see our formula-based projections - these are not tied into my rankings at all) for the coming week at each position to help you decide your starting lineup. Our rankings are based on the following scoring system: four points for a passing touchdown; six points for a rushing/receiving touchdown; one point for every 20 passing yards; and one point for every 10 rushing/receiving yards. Most importantly, the default rankings are now for PPR leagues.

**** PLEASE READ: Times change, and with them, so do I, even if I go kicking and screaming into the good night. The vast majority of the fantasy football universe plays with some form of PPR -whether it's a full point or 1/2 point. ESPN's default is full-point PPR, Yahoo's is .5 PPR. The DFS games for the vast majority are either half or full point PPR. I'm sympathetic to those of you who would prefer standard rankings, so please, feel free to ask your questions in the comments regarding how a player might change in a standard scoring league. ****

***PLEASE READ, PART II - The masses (ok, the not-so-silent minority) have spoken, and you really want more representation for standard leagues too, so the Flex Rankings are now Standard scoring.***

Typically, this article will be posted on Tuesday evenings. ***These are not draft rankings. They are solely for the given week of the season.***

I will update these

I will update these during the week, usually twice per week to account for injury or other news during practice. The timing of those updates will vary based on the news at hand and my schedule for the given week. But the first of those updates usually won't happen until Thursday. At any rate, I will post a "last updated" note at the top of the article, or an "update in progress" note if it's while I'm doing it. If there is no such note, that means it's my first pass at the rankings for this current week.

By all means, if you want to discuss a rank, or want me to add a player, chime in on the comments. I try to be receptive to your feedback and try to respond to most comments, though on occasion the volume can be quite thick. This first week in particular, but in other weeks as well, I will change ranks according to injuries and sometimes even a change of heart. Please refer to the rankings first when asking "should I start Player A vs. Player B?". And then refer to the rankings again before asking a generic starting decision question. If you really desire a response to a starting question that doesn't have added complexity, please use our Ask An Expert service - it comes with your subscription. Otherwise, my response will correspond with the rankings. If I rank one player before another, that's how I plan on making my starting decisions.

Quarterback

1.Patrick Mahomes KC vs. SF
2.Ben Roethlisberger PIT at TB
3.Tom Brady NE at Det
4.*Ryan Fitzpatrick TB vs. Pit
Note: Dirk Koetter's suggestion that Fitzpatrick could keep the job after Jameis Winston's suspension is over isn't looking so crazy now.
5.Jimmy Garoppolo SF at KC
6.Drew Brees NO at Atl
7.*Kirk Cousins MIN vs. Buf
Note: Moving him down a couple of notches - because the Vikes could be ahead enough that they grind the game out with the running game, limiting Cousins' attempts.
8.Jared Goff LA vs. LAC
9.Matthew Stafford DET vs. NE
10.*Aaron Rodgers GB at Was
Note: (Knee) Was 'pretty sore' after Sunday's full overtime game, but made it through ok. Still - mobility against a good pass rush is a problem - but can you generate that rush without blitzing? Limited to rehab work instead of practice on Thursday - it's pretty much the same process as last week. The team has acknowledged the possibility that Rodgers' injuries could also worsen. ***Practiced Saturday, expected to play Sunday. Also, the soggy conditions in DC concern me.***
11.*Cam Newton CAR vs. Cin
Note: Newton emerged fine after getting checked for a concussion following a big hit early in the game, and then threw for 335 yards and ran for 42 more.
12.Matt Ryan ATL vs. NO
13.*Carson Wentz PHI vs. Ind
Note: (Knee) Cleared to start Week 3. Expected to be a 'full-go' against the Colts this week.
14.*Blake Bortles JAC vs. Ten
Note: ***I'm moving Bortles up a few slots with Fournette out.***
15.*Deshaun Watson HOU vs. NYG
Note: The Texans' OL woes are really hurting Watson's value. He's been sacked seven times and been hit a league-leading 21 times. He's also going through some growing pains in his development - the final play of the game Sunday stands out. Wasted 18 seconds, only to complete a pass over the middle as time expired (and he was over the line of scrimmage to boot).
16.Russell Wilson SEA vs. Dal
Note: Killer pick-six against the Bears, even though he was the main reason why the Seahawks even had a chance late Sunday night.
17.Philip Rivers LAC at LAR
18.Andrew Luck IND at Phi
19.Andy Dalton CIN at Car
20.Alex Smith WAS vs. GB
21.*Case Keenum DEN at Bal
Note: Keenum's rushing touchdown helped cover over his inefficient passing performance against the Raiders. (Knee) Rest on Wednesday, but returned to practice Thursday.
22.Ryan Tannehill MIA vs. Oak
23.Joe Flacco BAL vs. Den
24.Derek Carr OAK at Mia
Note: How did Carr go 29-for-32 with no interceptions, average 9.0 yards per attempt, and lead the Raiders to just one touchdown? What a weird stat line.
25.Sam Darnold NYJ at Cle
26.Tyrod Taylor CLE vs. NYJ
27.Dak Prescott DAL at Sea
28.Eli Manning NYG at Hou
Note: Sacked six times in the loss to the Cowboys, constantly had to check down instead of throwing down field.
29.Mitchell Trubisky CHI at Ari
Note: It's pretty clear that the Bears are going to keep a harness on Trubisky early on this season. I want to watch them once the they're trying to catch up to see if they open things up a little, but it's pretty clear that they want to lean on the defense and running game.
30.*Josh Allen BUF at Min
Note: Had some decent moments, at least is attempting to throw downfield. But he's going to get hurt by his OL and lousy WR corps. He'll start again in Week 3 ... at Minnesota.
31.*Sam Bradford ARZ vs. Chi
Note: Once again got nothing downfield, passing just for 90 yards on 27 attempts. It has to be Josh Rosen Time soon. Remains the starter, though the calls for Rosen are getting louder.
32.*Blaine Gabbert TEN at Jax
Note: ***Likely to start again - so now we get The Blaine Gabbert Revenge Game!***
33.Lamar Jackson BAL vs. Den
34.*Marcus Mariota TEN at Jax
Note: (Elbow) Won't play until he's fully healthy - last week he couldn't grip the ball, which seems to be a hindrance towards being declared fully healthy. Still feeling numbness in his fingers. ***Ulnar nerve issue remains a problem, so he'll likely be the backup behind Gabbert.***
35.*Nick Foles PHI vs. Ind
Note: Thank you for your service and Super Bowl, now grab a clipboard.

Running Backs

1.*Todd Gurley LA vs. LAC
Note: Left a little early due to cramping last week, but appears to be fine.
2.Alvin Kamara NO at Atl
3.James Conner PIT at TB
4.Kareem Hunt KC vs. SF
5.Christian McCaffrey CAR vs. Cin
6.Saquon Barkley NYG at Hou
7.*Melvin Gordon LAC at LAR
Note: A Real Man suffers his 'upper body injury' late in the game, after he's already scored three touchdowns. In all seriousness, he's expected to be fine for this week. (Neck) Full practice Wednesday.
8.Ezekiel Elliott DAL at Sea
9.Tevin Coleman ATL vs. NO
10.*David Johnson ARZ vs. Chi
Note: Coaching staff acknowledged that they need to be more creative in getting the ball to Johnson, who didn't get any targets in the first half against the Rams.
11.Chris Thompson WAS vs. GB
12.*Latavius Murray MIN vs. Buf
Note: ***Starting with Cook out, should have a great matchup and game flow against the Bills.***
13.Kenyan Drake MIA vs. Oak
14.Jordan Howard CHI at Ari
15.*Giovani Bernard CIN at Car
Note: Should step right in to replace the injured Joe Mixon for at least this week, though he might not get the goal line carries. (Knee) Limited Wednesday, but had a full practice Thursday.
16.Carlos Hyde CLE vs. NYJ
17.Lamar Miller HOU vs. NYG
18.*Corey Grant JAC vs. Ten
Note: Seven targets against the Pats - even the Fournette returns, maybe it's Grant and not Yeldon that gets the work on third down? ***I think Grant will play a bigger role than Yeldon - Yeldon was limited all week, too.***
19.James White NE at Det
20.*Theo Riddick DET vs. NE
Note: Briefly left with an ankle injury against the Niners but later returned. Had a huge target share as once again the Lions were forced to play catch-up.
21.*Corey Clement PHI vs. Ind
Note: Could see a big workload bump if Ajayi can't go. Sproles might be back, so I wouldn't count on the pass volume he got against the Bucs. ***Popped up on the injury report with a quad injury, though he's expected to play.***
22.Peyton Barber TB vs. Pit
Note: Really struggled against the Eagles' front seven - 16 carries for 22 yards.
23.*Alex Collins BAL vs. Den
Note: Sick of losing goal line carries to Buck Allen ... or just too sick to practice Wednesday? Returned to practice Thursday.
24.Dion Lewis TEN at Jax
25.Phillip Lindsay DEN at Bal
26.*Marshawn Lynch OAK at Mia
Note: (Shoulder) Limited practice Wednesday. ***Off the injury report.***
27.*Royce Freeman DEN at Bal
Note: Uh-oh. Out performed and out-touched by Phillip Lindsay in Week 2. The only saving grace was that Freeman got the goal line carry.
28.*Sony Michel NE at Det
Note: Got 10 carries in his debut - should get a decent workload next week against a Lions' defense that got torched by Matt Breida.
29.Kerryon Johnson DET vs. NE
30.Adrian Peterson WAS vs. GB
31.Matt Breida SF at KC
32.Isaiah Crowell NYJ at Cle
33.*T.J. Yeldon JAC vs. Ten
Note: I'm working under the assumption that Fournette will play this week. (Ankle) Sat out Wednesday's practice but was set to return Thursday. ***Limited on Friday but expected to play. Bigger role with Fournette expected to be out.***
34.Jamaal Williams GB at Was
Note: Averaging only 3.4 yards per carry after two games (albeit against the Bears and Vikings), but now has to fend off Aaron Jones for playing time.
35.*Nyheim Hines IND at Phi
Note: Scored a touchdown, but was limited to 24 snaps with Marlon Mack returning - the Colts officially now have a three-headed monster. ***Marlon Mack is out this week.***
36.*Derrick Henry TEN at Jax
Note: (Back) Limited at Wednesday's practice. ***No longer on the injury report.***
37.*Austin Ekeler LAC at LAR
Note: Really looks dynamic - gets more work than the average backup. Could be a huge score if Gordon's upper body injury turns into something more than they're letting on.
38.Bilal Powell NYJ at Cle
39.*Jordan Wilkins IND at Phi
Note: ***Marlon Mack is out this week.***
40.*Chris Carson SEA vs. Dal
Note: 'Gassed' from playing snaps on special teams on Monday night - though coach Pete Carroll tried to walk that comment back on Tuesday.
41.*Tarik Cohen CHI at Ari
Note: Exited late in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury, but of greater concern is that the Bears didn't turn to him often on Monday night. Wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report.
42.Alfred Morris SF at KC
43.Marcus Murphy BUF at Min
44.Chris Ivory BUF at Min
45.Duke Johnson CLE vs. NYJ
Note: Used sparingly again in Week 2. Why again did they sign Hyde and Johnson?
46.Jalen Richard OAK at Mia
Note: On the field for just eight snaps last week, with zero targets.
47.*Aaron Jones GB at Was
Note: Suspension is over - but how much will he play? He wasn't involved in the passing game very often last year, and Ty Montgomery is still pretty good at that aspect of the game. Listed as third string this week - it's hard to invest in him this week until we see what that depth chart designation really means.
48.Wendell Smallwood PHI vs. Ind
49.Jacquizz Rodgers TB vs. Pit
50.Javorius Allen BAL vs. Den
51.Rashaad Penny SEA vs. Dal
52.Frank Gore MIA vs. Oak
53.Ty Montgomery GB at Was
54.*Rex Burkhead NE at Det
Note: Only six carries and no targets in the loss to the Jaguars.
55.*Ito Smith ATL vs. NO
Note: Had 10 touches as Coleman's backup with Freeman out last week.
56.Doug Martin OAK at Mia
57.C.J. Anderson CAR vs. Cin
58.*Mark Walton CIN at Car
Note: Likely to be the top backup behind Gio Bernard this week.
59.LeGarrette Blount DET vs. NE
60.Malcolm Brown LA vs. LAC
61.Chase Edmonds ARZ vs. Chi
62.Wayne Gallman NYG at Hou
63.Devontae Booker DEN at Bal
64.Nick Chubb CLE vs. NYJ
65.*Thomas Rawls CIN at Car
Note: Picked up by the Bengals to replace Tra Carson as Gio Bernard's backup while Mixon is out - but then had to leave Wednesday's practice early with cramping. It looks like he'll be behind not just Bernard but also Mark Walton this week.
66.Samaje Perine WAS vs. GB
67.Mike Gillislee NO at Atl
68.*Spencer Ware KC vs. SF
Note: ***Added to the injury report Friday, listed as questionable.***
69.Roc Thomas MIN vs. Buf
70.Josh Adams PHI vs. Ind
71.C.J. Prosise SEA vs. Dal
72.Jonathan Williams NO at Atl
73.*Leonard Fournette JAC vs. Ten
Note: (Hamstring) I'm operating under the assumption that Fournette will be able to play this week because he was a game-time decision last week. Limited practice Wednesday, set to practice again Thursday after not practicing at all last week. ***Late change of heart by the Jaguars - now Fournette is *not* expected to play!***
74.*LeSean McCoy BUF at Min
Note: Suffered cracked rib cartilage against the Chargers and is questionable for this week. Marcus Murphy and Chris Ivory would share the workload if McCoy were to miss the game. Ivory vultured a TD away from McCoy in Week 2. Limited practice Wednesday and Thursday. McCoy has vowed to play through the injury, though Friday's practice will be revelatory in what will really happen. ***Had three limited practices this week and traveled with the team to Minnesota, but ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that McCoy is unlikely to play.***
75.*Marlon Mack IND at Phi
Note: Looked good, but logged only 18 snaps. Were the Colts just working him in, or is this part of a true three-way split? (Foot, hamstring) Not present at Thursday's practice. ***Ruled out again this week.***
76.*Jay Ajayi PHI vs. Ind
Note: There's a 'good chance' that Ajayi (back) won't be available for Sunday's game, according to OC Mike Groh. The Eagles walked that back a little bit, but Ajayi did not practice Wednesday or Thursday. ***Ruled out for this week.***
77.*Darren Sproles PHI vs. Ind
Note: (Hamstring) Not yet practicing. ***Ruled out again this week.***
78.*Joe Mixon CIN at Car
Note: Had arthroscopic surgery to remove a particle from his knee last week - projected to be out two weeks. Some meniscus damage too. Already working out in the weight room.
79.*Devonta Freeman ATL vs. NO
Note: Coach Dan Quinn refuted an earlier report that Freeman (knee) will miss three-to-four weeks and said that he's instead day-to-day. Nonetheless, I'll believe it when Freeman practices. Not present at Wednesday and Thursday's practices. ***Officially ruled out this week.***
80.*Dalvin Cook MIN vs. Buf
Note: Had some cramping in his hamstring in overtime against the Packers on Sunday, but should be fine for this week. The Vikings' OL did a better job of limiting contact behind the line of scrimmage on his runs in Week 2. Did not practice Wednesday, worked out on the side Thursday. Maybe this is a little more series than initially disclosed? ***DECLARED OUT FOR THIS WEEK.***
81.*Le'Veon Bell PIT at TB
Note: Still away from the team for Week 3.
82.Mark Ingram NO at Atl
83.*Tra Carson CIN at Car
Note: Possible goal line vulture while Mixon is out. Or ... maybe not. Diagnosed with a hamstring injury and released by the Bengals.
84.*Rob Kelley WAS vs. GB
Note: Placed on IR with a toe injury.

Wide Receivers

1.*Antonio Brown PIT at TB
Note: Skipped a team meeting on Monday - coach Mike Tomlin plans to meet with him on Tuesday to get to the bottom of whatever the matter is with Brown. As we've learned with Lev Bell, you can't completely discount the possibility of something going wrong here. Back at the team's facility on Wednesday.
2.Michael Thomas NO at Atl
3.Mike Evans TB vs. Pit
4.Odell Beckham NYG at Hou
5.Tyreek Hill KC vs. SF
6.*DeAndre Hopkins HOU vs. NYG
Note: (Thumb, ankle) Limited in Wednesday's practice.
7.*Julio Jones ATL vs. NO
Note: Dealing with calf tightness that kept him out of Thursday's practice, but he downplayed the injury. ***Returned to a limited practice Friday, then removed from the injury list.***
8.Stefon Diggs MIN vs. Buf
9.A.J. Green CIN at Car
10.JuJu Smith-Schuster PIT at TB
11.Davante Adams GB at Was
12.Adam Thielen MIN vs. Buf
13.Keenan Allen LAC at LAR
Note: I'm a little nervous about the matchup against the Rams, but I think that the Chargers will be throwing a lot in this one, meaning that his volume should overcome the lack of efficiency.
14.Golden Tate DET vs. NE
15.DeSean Jackson TB vs. Pit
16.Brandin Cooks LA vs. LAC
17.Nelson Agholor PHI vs. Ind
Note: Heavy workload should continue for as long as Alshon Jeffery is out, especially with Mike Wallace also out now. He might get slightly fewer targets with Wentz, but as a tradeoff might get downfield more often.
18.*T.Y. Hilton IND at Phi
Note: (Quad) Sat out practices Wednesday and Thursday, though Hilton downplayed the issue. ***Cleared from the injury list after practicing Friday.***
19.*Jarvis Landry CLE vs. NYJ
Note: (Knee) Limited in Tuesday's practice - the Browns play on Thursday night. In line to play despite being limited all week.
20.Emmanuel Sanders DEN at Bal
21.Amari Cooper OAK at Mia
22.Quincy Enunwa NYJ at Cle
23.Allen Robinson CHI at Ari
Note: Had a whopping 10 catches on 14 targets on Monday night, but most of them were of the short-yardage variety.
24.Chris Hogan NE at Det
25.Kenny Golladay DET vs. NE
26.Keelan Cole JAC vs. Ten
27.Corey Davis TEN at Jax
28.Robert Woods LA vs. LAC
29.Michael Crabtree BAL vs. Den
30.*Will Fuller HOU vs. NYG
Note: (Hamstring) Limited again in practice Wednesday - this could be a weekly recurrence. ***Good to go for this week.***
31.Cooper Kupp LA vs. LAC
32.Tyler Lockett SEA vs. Dal
33.Sammy Watkins KC vs. SF
34.*Larry Fitzgerald ARZ vs. Chi
Note: (Hamstring) Will be monitored throughout the week, likely in the rehab group during practice. Apparently Fitz has been dealing with the injury for a week-to-10 days. Returned to practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday. ***Officially listed as questionable, but will play.***
35.Devin Funchess CAR vs. Cin
36.*Chris Godwin TB vs. Pit
Note: *** (Toe) Full practice on Saturday.***
37.Kenny Stills MIA vs. Oak
38.Pierre Garcon SF at KC
39.*Marvin Jones DET vs. NE
Note: ***Added to the injury report Friday with an ankle injury. He's expected to play, but the Lions play on Sunday night, so your options for a late pivot are limited.***
40.Geronimo Allison GB at Was
41.Demaryius Thomas DEN at Bal
Note: Only 18 yards on 11 targets last week, with a couple of bad drops. Yuck.
42.Mike Williams LAC at LAR
Note: Frustratingly targeted just twice against the Bills, but at least he got his first NFL touchdown.
43.Brandon Marshall SEA vs. Dal
44.Randall Cobb GB at Was
45.Dede Westbrook JAC vs. Ten
46.John Brown BAL vs. Den
47.*Marquise Goodwin SF at KC
Note: (Quad) Returned to a limited practice on Wednesday. ***Listed as questionable - a game-time decision. The quote from Kyle Shanahan scares me - 'He's not there yet. Hopefully he will be Sunday.'***
48.Robby Anderson NYJ at Cle
49.Jamison Crowder WAS vs. GB
50.*Antonio Callaway CLE vs. NYJ
Note: Caught his first touchdown pass as a pro on Sunday, should be very active on Thursday night.
51.Josh Doctson WAS vs. GB
Note: On the field for 90 percent of the snaps, but still the production all game underneath - he had one drop and another non-catch where the defender jarred the ball out from him in the end zone. The Redskins have to do a better job of involving their wideouts downfield.
52.Tyrell Williams LAC at LAR
53.*Josh Gordon NE at Det
Note: Traded to the Pats for the low cost of a fifth-round pick. The hamstring injury that was the official reason for keeping him out last week doesn't appear to be a problem. ***Three limited practices, officially listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, and now it's not a sure thing that he plays.***
54.*Cole Beasley DAL at Sea
Note: ***(Ankle) Listed as questionable on the injury report.***
55.*Kelvin Benjamin BUF at Min
Note: (Hip) Full practice Thursday.
56.*Dante Pettis SF at KC
Note: Missed some time last week with a knee injury, though he later returned. ***Goodwin is listed as questionable, as a game-time decision.***
57.Calvin Ridley ATL vs. NO
58.Rishard Matthews TEN at Jax
59.Sterling Shepard NYG at Hou
60.Ted Ginn NO at Atl
61.Phillip Dorsett NE at Det
62.*Rashard Higgins CLE vs. NYJ
Note: Had seven targets against the Saints, a total that could increase Thursday if Jarvis Landry is limited.
63.Tyler Boyd CIN at Car
64.Mohamed Sanu ATL vs. NO
65.Ryan Grant IND at Phi
66.Albert Wilson MIA vs. Oak
67.John Ross CIN at Car
68.D.J. Moore CAR vs. Cin
69.Bruce Ellington HOU vs. NYG
70.Anthony Miller CHI at Ari
71.Danny Amendola MIA vs. Oak
72.*Paul Richardson WAS vs. GB
Note: Played reasonably well through his shoulder injury. (Shoulder, knee) Limited on Thursday. ***Just two limited practices all week - should play, but questionable.***
73.Jordy Nelson OAK at Mia
74.Allen Hurns DAL at Sea
75.Trent Taylor SF at KC
76.*Christian Kirk ARZ vs. Chi
Note: Worked on the side with trainers rather than in the full practice Thursday. ***Full practice Friday.***
77.Michael Gallup DAL at Sea
78.Courtland Sutton DEN at Bal
79.Willie Snead BAL vs. Den
80.Taylor Gabriel CHI at Ari
Note: Frequently used on jet sweeps as part of the Bears' dink-and-dunk offense.
81.Taywan Taylor TEN at Jax
82.James Washington PIT at TB
83.Tavon Austin DAL at Sea
84.Chris Conley KC vs. SF
Note: Caught a touchdown pass last week, but only had two targets.
85.Austin Carr NO at Atl
86.Chad Williams ARZ vs. Chi
87.Jermaine Kearse NYJ at Cle
88.Tre'Quan Smith NO at Atl
89.Jakeem Grant MIA vs. Oak
90.Zay Jones BUF at Min
91.Jaron Brown SEA vs. Dal
92.Martavis Bryant OAK at Mia
93.*Donte Moncrief JAC vs. Ten
Note: Moncrief injured his knee in the win over the Patriots in the second half.
94.*DeVante Parker MIA vs. Oak
Note: Weird comment from coach Adam Gase - he said that Parker (finger) 'could have played' Sunday, yet he was still inactive. Does that mean Parker was a healthy scratch? Gase was noncommittal when asked about Parker on Thursday.
95.*Alshon Jeffery PHI vs. Ind
Note: (Shoulder) Still considered week-to-week. Limited practice Wednesday and Thursday. ***Listed as questionable, but not expected to play.***
96.*Doug Baldwin SEA vs. Dal
Note: (Knee) Unlikely to play this week. ***Officially ruled out.***
97.*Mike Wallace PHI vs. Ind
Note: Fractured fibula, out for multiple weeks.
98.Julian Edelman NE at Det

Tight Ends

1.*Rob Gronkowski NE at Det
Note: (Ankle) Added to the injury report Thursday. ***Moved well at Friday's practice.***
2.Travis Kelce KC vs. SF
3.Zach Ertz PHI vs. Ind
4.Jordan Reed WAS vs. GB
5.Jimmy Graham GB at Was
6.O.J. Howard TB vs. Pit
7.*Eric Ebron IND at Phi
Note: ***Could get a lot of targets with Jack Doyle out.***
8.Kyle Rudolph MIN vs. Buf
9.David Njoku CLE vs. NYJ
Note: Four receptions on seven targets last week. Should be a frequent part of the passing game with Gordon gone.
10.Trey Burton CHI at Ari
11.Austin Hooper ATL vs. NO
12.*Evan Engram NYG at Hou
Note: (Ankle) Limited practice Thursday. ***Cleared from the injury report.***
13.Jared Cook OAK at Mia
14.George Kittle SF at KC
15.Ricky Seals-Jones ARZ vs. Chi
16.Jesse James PIT at TB
17.Will Dissly SEA vs. Dal
Note: Garbage time still counts in fantasy. It's telling that he's out there in a must-pass situation, though.
18.Ben Watson NO at Atl
19.Tyler Eifert CIN at Car
20.Virgil Green LAC at LAR
Note: Had a few nice receptions against the Bills. Got fortunate on a fumble review, however.
21.*Austin Seferian-Jenkins JAC vs. Ten
Note: (Core muscle) Limited at Thursday's practice. ***Removed from the injury report.***
22.Cameron Brate TB vs. Pit
Note: Not targeted in Week 2.
23.Jake Butt DEN at Bal
Note: Targeted six times in Week 2.
24.Charles Clay BUF at Min
25.Mark Andrews BAL vs. Den
26.Nick Boyle BAL vs. Den
27.Vance McDonald PIT at TB
28.*Ryan Griffin HOU vs. NYG
Note: Dealing with a hip injury.
29.Ian Thomas CAR vs. Cin
30.Vernon Davis WAS vs. GB
31.A.J. Derby MIA vs. Oak
32.*Antonio Gates LAC at LAR
Note: (Illness) Sat out Wednesday's practice. ***Missed two practices but expected to play.***
33.Dallas Goedert PHI vs. Ind
34.Nick Vannett SEA vs. Dal
35.Garrett Celek SF at KC
36.*Luke Stocker TEN at Jax
Note: (Calf) Full practice Thursday.
37.C.J. Uzomah CIN at Car
38.Tyler Higbee LA vs. LAC
39.Jonnu Smith TEN at Jax
40.Mike Gesicki MIA vs. Oak
Note: Not even targeted in Week 2.
41.Luke Willson DET vs. NE
42.Tyler Kroft CIN at Car
43.*Jack Doyle IND at Phi
Note: (Hip) Not present for Thursday's practice. ***Ruled out this week.***
44.*Seth DeValve CLE vs. NYJ
Note: (Hamstring) Still not practicing.
45.*Hayden Hurst BAL vs. Den
Note: (Foot) Won't practice this week. ***Officially ruled out.***

Flex (RB/WR/TE)

1.*Todd Gurley LA vs. LAC
Note: Left a little early due to cramping last week, but appears to be fine.
2.Alvin Kamara NO at Atl
3.*Antonio Brown PIT at TB
Note: Skipped a team meeting on Monday - coach Mike Tomlin plans to meet with him on Tuesday to get to the bottom of whatever the matter is with Brown. As we've learned with Lev Bell, you can't completely discount the possibility of something going wrong here. Back at the team's facility on Wednesday.
4.Michael Thomas NO at Atl
5.Mike Evans TB vs. Pit
6.Odell Beckham NYG at Hou
7.Tyreek Hill KC vs. SF
8.*DeAndre Hopkins HOU vs. NYG
Note: (Thumb, ankle) Limited in Wednesday's practice.
9.*Julio Jones ATL vs. NO
Note: Dealing with calf tightness that kept him out of Thursday's practice, but he downplayed the injury. ***Returned to a limited practice Friday, then removed from the injury list.***
10.Stefon Diggs MIN vs. Buf
11.A.J. Green CIN at Car
12.JuJu Smith-Schuster PIT at TB
13.Davante Adams GB at Was
14.James Conner PIT at TB
15.*Rob Gronkowski NE at Det
Note: (Ankle) Added to the injury report Thursday. ***Moved well at Friday's practice.***
16.Travis Kelce KC vs. SF
17.Kareem Hunt KC vs. SF
18.*Melvin Gordon LAC at LAR
Note: A Real Man suffers his 'upper body injury' late in the game, after he's already scored three touchdowns. In all seriousness, he's expected to be fine for this week. (Neck) Full practice Wednesday.
19.Ezekiel Elliott DAL at Sea
20.Adam Thielen MIN vs. Buf
21.Saquon Barkley NYG at Hou
22.Keenan Allen LAC at LAR
Note: I'm a little nervous about the matchup against the Rams, but I think that the Chargers will be throwing a lot in this one, meaning that his volume should overcome the lack of efficiency.
23.Golden Tate DET vs. NE
24.Christian McCaffrey CAR vs. Cin
25.DeSean Jackson TB vs. Pit
26.Brandin Cooks LA vs. LAC
27.Zach Ertz PHI vs. Ind
28.*T.Y. Hilton IND at Phi
Note: (Quad) Sat out practices Wednesday and Thursday, though Hilton downplayed the issue. ***Cleared from the injury list after practicing Friday.***
29.Nelson Agholor PHI vs. Ind
Note: Heavy workload should continue for as long as Alshon Jeffery is out, especially with Mike Wallace also out now. He might get slightly fewer targets with Wentz, but as a tradeoff might get downfield more often.
30.Jordan Reed WAS vs. GB
31.*David Johnson ARZ vs. Chi
Note: Coaching staff acknowledged that they need to be more creative in getting the ball to Johnson, who didn't get any targets in the first half against the Rams.
32.*Latavius Murray MIN vs. Buf
Note: ***Starting with Cook out, should have a great matchup and game flow against the Bills.***
33.Jordan Howard CHI at Ari
34.Tevin Coleman ATL vs. NO
35.*Jarvis Landry CLE vs. NYJ
Note: (Knee) Limited in Tuesday's practice - the Browns play on Thursday night. In line to play despite being limited all week.
36.Emmanuel Sanders DEN at Bal
37.Amari Cooper OAK at Mia
38.Kenyan Drake MIA vs. Oak
39.Chris Thompson WAS vs. GB
40.Quincy Enunwa NYJ at Cle
41.Allen Robinson CHI at Ari
Note: Had a whopping 10 catches on 14 targets on Monday night, but most of them were of the short-yardage variety.
42.Chris Hogan NE at Det
43.Kenny Golladay DET vs. NE
44.Keelan Cole JAC vs. Ten
45.Corey Davis TEN at Jax
46.Robert Woods LA vs. LAC
47.Michael Crabtree BAL vs. Den
48.*Giovani Bernard CIN at Car
Note: Should step right in to replace the injured Joe Mixon for at least this week, though he might not get the goal line carries. (Knee) Limited Wednesday, but had a full practice Thursday.
49.Lamar Miller HOU vs. NYG
50.Carlos Hyde CLE vs. NYJ
51.*Will Fuller HOU vs. NYG
Note: (Hamstring) Limited again in practice Wednesday - this could be a weekly recurrence. ***Good to go for this week.***
52.Jimmy Graham GB at Was
53.*Corey Clement PHI vs. Ind
Note: Could see a big workload bump if Ajayi can't go. Sproles might be back, so I wouldn't count on the pass volume he got against the Bucs. ***Popped up on the injury report with a quad injury, though he's expected to play.***
54.O.J. Howard TB vs. Pit
55.Cooper Kupp LA vs. LAC
56.Isaiah Crowell NYJ at Cle
57.Tyler Lockett SEA vs. Dal
58.Sammy Watkins KC vs. SF
59.James White NE at Det
60.*Marshawn Lynch OAK at Mia
Note: (Shoulder) Limited practice Wednesday. ***Off the injury report.***
61.*Alex Collins BAL vs. Den
Note: Sick of losing goal line carries to Buck Allen ... or just too sick to practice Wednesday? Returned to practice Thursday.
62.*Larry Fitzgerald ARZ vs. Chi
Note: (Hamstring) Will be monitored throughout the week, likely in the rehab group during practice. Apparently Fitz has been dealing with the injury for a week-to-10 days. Returned to practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday. ***Officially listed as questionable, but will play.***
63.*Royce Freeman DEN at Bal
Note: Uh-oh. Out performed and out-touched by Phillip Lindsay in Week 2. The only saving grace was that Freeman got the goal line carry.
64.*Sony Michel NE at Det
Note: Got 10 carries in his debut - should get a decent workload next week against a Lions' defense that got torched by Matt Breida.
65.Adrian Peterson WAS vs. GB
66.Devin Funchess CAR vs. Cin
67.*Chris Godwin TB vs. Pit
Note: *** (Toe) Full practice on Saturday.***
68.Kenny Stills MIA vs. Oak
69.Geronimo Allison GB at Was
70.Demaryius Thomas DEN at Bal
Note: Only 18 yards on 11 targets last week, with a couple of bad drops. Yuck.
71.Brandon Marshall SEA vs. Dal
72.*Theo Riddick DET vs. NE
Note: Briefly left with an ankle injury against the Niners but later returned. Had a huge target share as once again the Lions were forced to play catch-up.
73.Peyton Barber TB vs. Pit
Note: Really struggled against the Eagles' front seven - 16 carries for 22 yards.
74.*Corey Grant JAC vs. Ten
Note: Seven targets against the Pats - even the Fournette returns, maybe it's Grant and not Yeldon that gets the work on third down? ***I think Grant will play a bigger role than Yeldon - Yeldon was limited all week, too.***
75.*Marvin Jones DET vs. NE
Note: ***Added to the injury report Friday with an ankle injury. He's expected to play, but the Lions play on Sunday night, so your options for a late pivot are limited.***
76.Dion Lewis TEN at Jax
77.Phillip Lindsay DEN at Bal
78.Kerryon Johnson DET vs. NE
79.Matt Breida SF at KC
80.Jamaal Williams GB at Was
Note: Averaging only 3.4 yards per carry after two games (albeit against the Bears and Vikings), but now has to fend off Aaron Jones for playing time.
81.*Eric Ebron IND at Phi
Note: ***Could get a lot of targets with Jack Doyle out.***
82.Randall Cobb GB at Was
83.Robby Anderson NYJ at Cle
84.Jamison Crowder WAS vs. GB
85.John Brown BAL vs. Den
86.Mike Williams LAC at LAR
Note: Frustratingly targeted just twice against the Bills, but at least he got his first NFL touchdown.
87.*T.J. Yeldon JAC vs. Ten
Note: I'm working under the assumption that Fournette will play this week. (Ankle) Sat out Wednesday's practice but was set to return Thursday. ***Limited on Friday but expected to play. Bigger role with Fournette expected to be out.***
88.*Antonio Callaway CLE vs. NYJ
Note: Caught his first touchdown pass as a pro on Sunday, should be very active on Thursday night.
89.Kyle Rudolph MIN vs. Buf
90.Chris Ivory BUF at Min
91.David Njoku CLE vs. NYJ
Note: Four receptions on seven targets last week. Should be a frequent part of the passing game with Gordon gone.
92.*Marquise Goodwin SF at KC
Note: (Quad) Returned to a limited practice on Wednesday. ***Listed as questionable - a game-time decision. The quote from Kyle Shanahan scares me - 'He's not there yet. Hopefully he will be Sunday.'***
93.*Derrick Henry TEN at Jax
Note: (Back) Limited at Wednesday's practice. ***No longer on the injury report.***
94.*Austin Ekeler LAC at LAR
Note: Really looks dynamic - gets more work than the average backup. Could be a huge score if Gordon's upper body injury turns into something more than they're letting on.
95.Bilal Powell NYJ at Cle
96.*Chris Carson SEA vs. Dal
Note: 'Gassed' from playing snaps on special teams on Monday night - though coach Pete Carroll tried to walk that comment back on Tuesday.
97.Rashaad Penny SEA vs. Dal
98.Alfred Morris SF at KC
99.*Marlon Mack IND at Phi
Note: Looked good, but logged only 18 snaps. Were the Colts just working him in, or is this part of a true three-way split? (Foot, hamstring) Not present at Thursday's practice. ***Ruled out again this week.***
100.*Tarik Cohen CHI at Ari
Note: Exited late in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury, but of greater concern is that the Bears didn't turn to him often on Monday night. Wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report.
101.Josh Doctson WAS vs. GB
Note: On the field for 90 percent of the snaps, but still the production all game underneath - he had one drop and another non-catch where the defender jarred the ball out from him in the end zone. The Redskins have to do a better job of involving their wideouts downfield.
102.Dede Westbrook JAC vs. Ten
103.Trey Burton CHI at Ari
104.Austin Hooper ATL vs. NO
105.*Aaron Jones GB at Was
Note: Suspension is over - but how much will he play? He wasn't involved in the passing game very often last year, and Ty Montgomery is still pretty good at that aspect of the game. Listed as third string this week - it's hard to invest in him this week until we see what that depth chart designation really means.
106.*Josh Gordon NE at Det
Note: Traded to the Pats for the low cost of a fifth-round pick. The hamstring injury that was the official reason for keeping him out last week doesn't appear to be a problem. ***Three limited practices, officially listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, and now it's not a sure thing that he plays.***

Kickers

1.Justin Tucker BAL vs. Den
2.Stephen Gostkowski NE at Det
3.Robbie Gould SF at KC
Note: Has now made 28 kicks in a row.

5.Jake Elliott PHI vs. Ind
6.*Dan Bailey MIN vs. Buf
Note: Signed with the Vikings to replace Daniel Carlson.
7.Wil Lutz NO at Atl

Note: Missed a field goal (49) and an extra-point attempt in the loss to the Chiefs.
9.Matt Prater DET vs. NE
10.Matt Bryant ATL vs. NO
11.*Sam Ficken LA vs. LAC
Note: Filling in for the Rams while Greg Zuerlein is out.
12.Mason Crosby GB at Was
13.Josh Lambo JAC vs. Ten
14.Caleb Sturgis LAC at LAR
15.Graham Gano CAR vs. Cin
16.Dustin Hopkins WAS vs. GB
17.Brandon McManus DEN at Bal
18.Jason Sanders MIA vs. Oak
19.Adam Vinatieri IND at Phi
20.*Randy Bullock CIN at Car
Note: Signed a two-year contract extension with the Bengals.
21.Sebastian Janikowski SEA vs. Dal
22.Ka'imi Fairbairn HOU vs. NYG
23.Chandler Catanzaro TB vs. Pit
24.Mike Nugent OAK at Mia
Note: Blocked extra point turns out to be costly.
25.Aldrick Rosas NYG at Hou
26.Ryan Succop TEN at Jax
27.Jason Myers NYJ at Cle
28.Cody Parkey CHI at Ari
29.Brett Maher DAL at Sea
30.*Greg Joseph CLE vs. NYJ
Note: Replacing Zane Gonzalez, who tried to kick while hurt without telling the coaching staff, and lost the game for them in the process.
31.Stephen Hauschka BUF at Min
32.Phil Dawson ARZ vs. Chi
33.*Greg Zuerlein LA vs. LAC
Note: Out with a groin injury suffered in warmups.

Defenses

1.*Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Ten
Note: ***Jalen Ramsey popped up on the injury report with an ankle injury but is expected to play.***
2.Minnesota Vikings vs. Buf
3.Chicago Bears at Ari
4.Los Angeles Rams vs. LAC
5.*Baltimore Ravens vs. Den
Note: C.J. Mosley left Thursday night's loss to the Bengals early with a bone bruise in his knee and his status for this week is uncertain. ***Mosley is a game-time call.***
6.Houston Texans vs. NYG
7.*Cleveland Browns vs. NYJ
Note: Christian Kirksey (shoulder) didn't practice Tuesday after sitting out in Week 2.
8.*Dallas Cowboys at Sea
Note: Randy Gregory (concussion) on track to play Sunday.
9.New York Jets at Cle
10.Philadelphia Eagles vs. Ind
11.Carolina Panthers vs. Cin
12.*Seattle Seahawks vs. Dal
Note: Both K.J. Wright and Bobby Wagner could return for Week 3. ***Earl Thomas missed two practices this week to tend to a 'personal matter' (read to be unhappiness about his contract and lack of trade), but went through the team's walk-through Saturday.***
13.*Denver Broncos at Bal
Note: Adam Jones is dealing with a hamstring injury.
14.Cincinnati Bengals at Car
15.Miami Dolphins vs. Oak
16.*New England Patriots at Det
Note: The Pats lost Patrick Chung and Trey Flowers to concussions in the loss to the Jaguars.
17.Los Angeles Chargers at LAR
18.New York Giants at Hou
19.Tennessee Titans at Jax
20.Arizona Cardinals vs. Chi
21.Atlanta Falcons vs. NO
22.Washington Redskins vs. GB
23.Green Bay Packers at Was
24.Indianapolis Colts at Phi
25.Oakland Raiders at Mia
26.New Orleans Saints at Atl
27.Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Pit
28.*San Francisco 49ers at KC
Note: Reuben Foster will return from suspension this week.
29.Pittsburgh Steelers at TB
30.*Detroit Lions vs. NE
Note: Darius Slay left the loss to the Niners with a concussion.
31.Kansas City Chiefs vs. SF
32.*Buffalo Bills at Min
Note: Vontae Davis retired midway through the Week 2 loss to the Chargers.
