This article is part of our NFL Waiver Wire series.
The waiver wire is thin this week. There are some interesting running back situations in Oakland, with Marshawn Lynch possibly done for the season (and his career), and in Buffalo where LeSean McCoy's concussion should open the door for others in that backfield. The injury bug hit Miami's receiving corps, and there's a new group of four teams on the bye.

This column is geared toward "standard" 12-team leagues and based upon a $100 free-agent budget. Please, please adjust for your league based on both the number of teams (I'm in a 24-team league, for example) and budget.
Cody Kessler, JAC - While Blake Bortles will start in London this week, the leash is short. Kessler will take reps with the first team this week just in case he's needed Sunday. This recommendation is for two-quarterback or super-flex leagues where owners might be handcuffing one of their starters with that team's backup. Rostering Kessler instead of said backup could prove a wise move if Kessler ends up taking over, as owners will have another starting quarterback without needing an injury. Kessler didn't exactly light up the scoreboard last Sunday, throwing a pick with a 5.2 YPA, but he came in cold and the Texans have one of the better defenses in football. FAAB: FCFS or $1
