Giants vs Titans
Betting Odds, Picks and Predictions for Week 3
After a Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys that injected even more life into the Giants, their season may have already come crashing to a halt. Jaxson Dart suffered a knee injury on the first drive of last week's matchup with the Los Angeles Rams, and he will need surgery that will sideline him for the rest of the regular season. As the Giants try to pick up the pieces, let's discuss the betting outlook for their Week 3 matchup with the Titans.
Mike Barner's season record: 3-3 (-0.67 units)
Giants vs. Titans Betting Odds
Spread: Giants -2.5 (DraftKings), Titans +2.5 (Fanatics)
Moneyline: Giants -135 (DraftKings), Titans +120 (FanDuel)
Total: Over 38 (Caesars), Under 38.5 (BetMGM)
Dart might not be the only key player that the Giants will be without for this matchup. Brian Burns is dealing with a low-ankle sprain, and he is officially listed as questionable. Deonte Banks (calf) also joins him with a questionable tag. For the Titans, Tyjae Spears (ankle) did not practice Wednesday or Thursday, before turning in a limited practice Friday, and he also is listed as questionable, as is former Giants CB Cor'Dale Flott (quadriceps).

Giants vs. Titans Betting Picks
- Isaiah Likely Over 3.5 receptions (-154 FanDuel) for 1 Unit
The Giants' offense should look different with Dart out. Veteran Jameis Winston might be one of the better backup quarterbacks in the league, but he's not nearly as much of a threat with his legs as Dart is. One thing that probably won't change is Likely's role in their offense. Although he only finished with 33 receiving yards last week, he posted five receptions on 10 targets. Through two games, the former Raven has been targeted 18 times.
The Titans haven't faced any dangerous tight ends through two games. Week 1 brought a matchup against the Jets' underwhelming duo of Mason Taylor and Kenyon Sadiq, although Sadiq did have a rushing TD in the opener. Dallas Goedert could have proved troublesome against them last week, but the Eagles' veteran only logged 19 snaps before suffering a knee injury. Last season, the Titans allowed the 15th-most receptions to tight ends, so Likely can have success in this matchup.

- Cam Ward Under 189.5 pass yards (-111 DraftKings) for 1 Unit
The Titans tried to improve things around Ward this season. Brian Daboll is their new offensive coordinator and the team upgraded at wide receiver with the additions of Carnell Tate and Wan'Dale Robinson. However, that still hasn't helped Ward yet. He threw for 140 yards against the Jets in Week 1, then posted 183 yards versus the Eagles last week. The Titans haven't asked him to attempt many deep passes, leaving him with an average target depth of just 5.9 yards.
The Giants entered the season with a suspect secondary, and are now without cornerback Paulson Adebo (knee), who is on IR. While that might suggest there is upside for Ward this week, the weather could change that thinking. Rain and strong winds are likely to be a factor. Ward already hasn't been attempting many deep passes and the weather likely won't change that.
- Race to 25 Points: Neither (-124 DraftKings) for 1 Unit
Ward isn't the only member of the Titans' offense that has been underwhelming. Tony Pollard hasn't made much of an impact, rushing 21 times for 99 yards. He hasn't scored a touchdown and has caught a total of just two passes for a combined zero yards. After scoring 10 points in Week 1, the Titans produced 20 points last week against the Eagles. In that matchup, they were aided by Jalen Hurts throwing two interceptions, one of which came at the Titans' 44-yard line that resulted in a field goal for them on the ensuing drive.
A matchup versus the Rams is tough for any opponent, but Winston only led the Giants to six points against them last week. He threw an interception, which is no surprise given the problems with turnovers that he has had throughout his career. As a starter with the Buccaneers, he was picked off 30 times in 2019. The Giants might want to lean on their running game in this matchup, given Winston's limitations and the weather. This has the makings of a low-scoring battle.
Giants vs. Titans Prediction
If the Giants are going to make the playoffs without Dart, they must take advantage of their schedule the next few weeks. Their next three opponents are the Titans, Arizona Cardinals and a Washington Commanders team that could be without Jayden Daniels (elbow).
Winston should benefit from a full week of practice with the starters, and the Giants have the advantage of this game being at home. That puts them in a favorable position to win.
Prediction: Giants 17, Titans 13
