Milloy is back for another year, starting at strong safety for the Seahawks in 2010. His main focus will be tutoring rookie Earl Thomas, who will start at free safety. Milloy likely will still be good for a fair amount of tackles, but probably not enough to warrant IDP consideration.
Milloy will turn 35 this season, but he still puts up quality stats year-after-year. He will provide veteran leadership in the locker room for the falcons and should provide fantasy teams with 90+ tackles and a pick or two.
Talk about a track record. In his 11-year career, Milloy has topped 100 total tackles seven times, including five consecutive at one point. He's been in the 90s twice, including 98 last season. Other than a broken forearm in 2004 that knocked him out for five games, he's never missed a game, playing through the more minor injuries. Imagine having him the season when he made 120 tackles, six interceptions and a sack. But there's the rub: that was 1998. The tough thing about a strong, long track record is that it means you’re older and your skills are diminishing. Milloy has had only three interceptions in the last five years, including three blank slates. He's registered a sack in four consecutive years, but those don't rack up the points quite as much. Milloy continues to prove he still has it, and tackling is the one skill needed for anything else to matter, but it’s his ability to make plays beyond tackling that will make or break his fantasy year.
Milloy will be Atlanta's starting strong safety, and a veteran leader to a young secondary. Having recorded just three interceptions over the past two seasons, Milloy's far removed from his days as an elite IDP option, but he should produce good tackling numbers again in 2006.
Milloy, who missed much of the 2004 season due to a shattered right forearm, should be back to full health for the start of 2005. Milloy makes a decent IDP play, considering the Bills like him around the ball and he'll be part of a talented secondary which includes Troy Vincent, Nate Clements and Terrence McGee. A good target is 100 tackles, two sacks and two picks.
Milloy was decent for the Bills after they picked him up following his release from the Patriots, with 104 combined tackles and three sacks. He also provided veteran leadership. For the second straight season, however, he failed to grab an interception, giving him little value in IDP leagues. He makes the Bills better, but he can't help you individually unless the picks return.
