Williams finds himself in an awkward situation right now with the additions of Anquan Boldin and Donte' Stallworth pushing him even further down the depth chart. He has talent but was never able to consistently produce for the Ravens. He may end up on another team's roster before the season starts.
One reason the Ravens did not acquire a deep threat in the offseason is that they believed they already had one in Williams. The only problem: Williams has ended the last two seasons on injured reserve. This season he finds himself likely starting opposite Mark Clayton now that Derrick Mason has retired. Until Williams actually proves it on the field, however, he will never be worth more than a late-round flyer.
Williams was on pace for nearly 40 receptions last season before going down for the season with a high ankle sprain in Week 10. Assuming he stays healthy, he has enough talent to take catches away from Derrick Mason and Mark Clayton, and could be the best deep-threat of the three. Still, with the muddy situation at quarterback, he's a risky pick on draft day.
Williams is already penciled in as the Ravens' No. 3 wide receiver after a very nice rookie year (22 catches, 396 yards and two touchdowns). Williams is the sleeper of this team.
Rookie out of Oregon that's competing with Devard Darling for the third receiver's job.
