ANALYSIS
Two years removed from a 7.5-sack season, Idonije will likely enter the 2014 campaign without a home. He was released by the Bears in June, and then met the same fate in New York after the final game of the preseason.

Idonije has become a very consistent player for the Bears over the past two years with 13 sacks, but lacks spectacular talent and quickness. Now, with the addition of Shea McClellin, Idonije figures to play a bit less opposite Julius Peppers, so a dip in production can be expected.
Idonije could warrant a higher spot than this after his breakout eight-sack season last year, but he could just as easily revert to form. His starting spot seems relatively safe, but it’s hard to be entirely sold on Idonije given that he had just eight sacks in the seven seasons prior to last year. Since he still has a relatively low profile, however, it’s not as if he’ll come at a high cost in most fantasy leagues. He's a decent gamble at this spot.
Idonije actually has a chance to start at defensive end opposite Julius Peppers this season now that the team has cut Alex Brown, though Mark Anderson is the early favorite to win the starting spot. Regardless of whether Idonije or Anderson ends up as the starter, both should see significant playing time at defensive end this season.
Idonije had his best season last year, registering 28 tackles and 3.5 sacks. He'll return in the same role, as a part of the rotation along the defensive line.
Idonije will serve as part of the rotation on the interior of the Bears' defensive line.
Idonije was a key reserve for the Bears' defensive line last season, filling in for injured players down the stretch. He's expected to be a backup at both DT and DE this year while also contributing on special teams.
