This is a tough break for Brooks, who looked like he was on the cusp of carving a meaningful role with the defense this season. After cutting Brooks , it's conceivable that the Eagles may make a run at fellow corner Joe Haden, who was released by the Browns on Wednesday.

Brooks finished the 2015 campaign on injured reserve after dealing with neck, shoulder and head injuries throughout the season. He is reportedly healthy entering 2016, though, but appears to have lost out to Nolan Carroll for the Eagles' starting CB role opposite the newly-acquired Leodis McKelvin. Nonetheless, he should still see the field often in passing situations, but not enough to warrant any sort of fantasy consideration.
