Robinson recently received medical clearance from his concussion issues, USA Today's Tom Pelissero reports.
ANALYSIS
Robinson previously said that he suffered four concussions last season, which (along with his previous injury history) helps to explain why he is still available. It seems as though he's worked out for more teams than any other player this offseason, and having finally received clearance, it seems likely that Robinson will sign somewhere soon. The Ravens, Patriots, Saints and 49ers rank among the most notable teams in need of receiving help, although other organizations also figure to be interested. While there's little doubt that Robinson is a talented athlete, it's hard to imagine him bouncing all the way back to his 2011 level of production. Even if you put the extensive injury issues aside, he's been an inconsistent performer throughout this career. Robinson will probably need a few breaks if he's going to land a spot as anything more than a No. 4 receiver.

Robinson was waived by the Jaguars this offseason after recording 24 catches for 252 yards in seven games in 2012 before multiple concussions derailed his season. The Jaguars cleared Robinson physically earlier this offseason, so barring any setbacks, he'll presumably have a chance to be healthy enough to contribute somewhere in 2013, though obviously his concussion history remains a concern.
Robinson had one of the strangest years for a receiver in recent memory. After not being retained by the Rams (of all teams) during the spring, he landed in San Diego in August, was released from the Chargers late in training camp, landed in Dallas in early September, was released from the Cowboys in mid-September and re-signed by the Cowboys a week later. Then somehow – even though the Cowboys had Dez Bryant and Jason Witten and even Miles Austin for some of the games – Robinson caught 11 touchdowns over the last nine weeks of the year. Naturally, the Cowboys let him walk, but the Jaguars signed him to a five-year $32.5 million deal. Robinson has shown glimpses of his playmaking and red-zone ability in the past – he started off strong in St. Louis in 2009 before breaking his leg. At 6-2, 194, Robinson has decent size, but he’s slight and injury prone. He was able to make big plays in Dallas with 15.9 YPC and 10.6 YPT last year, but the Jacksonville passing game – led by Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne – is a far cry from what he had with the Cowboys. Moreover, the Jaguars drafted Justin Blackmon with the No. 5 overall pick, so Robinson will have competition for targets.
Robinson was effective at times with St. Louis, but injuries have really hurt his production in the past. He was brought to San Diego to add to the competition at wide receiver, but the return of Malcom Floyd really hurts his chances of making the team.
Robinson had a great camp last summer, and looked like the Rams’ top target two games into the year with 11 catches, 141 yards and a touchdown before breaking his leg and severely spraining his ankle in Week 3. At 6-2, 200, and with good speed and explosion, Robinson can stretch defenses and is also capable of going over top of smaller defenders in the red zone. But he’s battled knee and hamstring problems with the Falcons in 2008, and his focus has been inconsistent thus far in his career. There’s some upside here if Robinson stays healthy and develops a rapport with rookie Sam Bradford. At press time, Robinson’s expected to be 100 percent healthy for the start of training camp.
Robinson is talented and showed some flashes during mini-camps. He's currently slated to be the club's No. 3 wideout but Keenan Burton isn't a lock to be the club's No. 2 guy so expect a significant battle in camp with the winner becoming a true fantasy prospect.
At 6-2, 200, Robinson will look to use his size to take advantage of smaller defensive backs. The Falcons have a new coaching staff and questions at quarterback that will make it difficult for Robinson to succeed. Competition from Joe Horn and Michael Jenkins will make Robinson an iffy draft day selection, but he currently holds a starting spot alongside Roddy White.
You'd think that NFL players could run clean routes and catch passes, but those are the two areas that Falcon receivers have stuggled with. The Falcons have been plagued by dropped passes like no other team in the league, with former first rounders Michael Jenkins and Roddy White being two of the main culprits. If Robinson can simply catch the ball, he could find himself getting a lot of playing time in his rookie season. New head coach Bobby Petrino has no loyalty to either Jenkins or White, so Robinson could find himself as the third or possibly second receiver in the Atlanta offense this season. Keep an eye on how he fares during training camp, as his size and 4.38 speed make him an intriguing prospect and a possible sleeper.
