Naaman Roosevelt

Roosevelt will be one of many receivers in Browns' camp battling for a spot on the active roster this summer.

Roosevelt finished the 2011 season, his second in the NFL, with 16 catches for 257 yards and a score over 10 games. Roosevelt served all over the board, from practice squad guy to anywhere between the No. 2 and No. 5 receiver spot. The local product has done a good job sticking in the NFL as an undrafted free agent so far, but unfortunately he looks like he'll be fringe guy for a while. With the Bills upgrading their receiving corps this offseason via a third-round draft choice (T.J. Graham) and with returning players from injury, Roosevelt may have some work cut out just to make the team as a No. 5 or No. 6 guy. He at least has a couple things working for him in that quest, between his familiarity with the coaching staff and the offense, plus he's got extremely reliable hands. We like Roosevelt's story as undrafted local guy, but we just don't see him on the fantasy radar in 2012 unless multiple injuries strike.

Roosevelt, an undrafted free agent who was on the practice squad much of the 2010 season, saw the field in six games when injuries struck the Bills at wideout. However, with most of the receiving corps coming back -- including Marcus Easley, who missed the whole season with a knee injury -- as well as Buster Davis being signed, Roosevelt may be in a dogfight to make the team. The August trade of Lee Evans will help Roosevelt in that quest. UPDATE: Roosevelt did not make the final 53-man squad.

The Bills know a lot about Roosevelt because he played in their backyard his entire career at the University of Buffalo. He doesn't have the big-game experience many of the other receivers in this year's crop had, nor does he have the same raw athleticism, but he's by far the greatest receiver in the program's history and was consistently productive on the field, even when the Bulls played the country's better schools. He's worth a shot for the team to see if he can stick to the roster, though there's no fantasy value to be had here.
