Haggan will battle fellow free agent Jo-Lonn Dunbar for the starting linebacker job on the right side. With the loser likely to contribute the most on special teams.
Haggan will backup Joe Mays at middle linebacker.
Haggen will most likely not see much action in 2010, as he is deep down the Broncos' depth chart.
Haggan will provide another body to play linebacker, but he does not figure to see much playing time.
Even though the Bills lost linebackers London Fletcher and Takeo Spikes, Haggan will still probably be a backup because the team looks like it's going with a starting threesome of Angelo Crowell, rookie Paul Posluszny and Keith Ellison. The Bills will probably keep Haggan as a reserve, because he's also a special teams standout and led the team in special team tackles in 2006. The Bills place more emphasis on special teams than most.
Backup linebacker who would only have value in deep IDP leagues if something happened to one of the starters, AND top backup Angelo Crowell was unable to step in.
Backup linebacker who does most of his work on special teams. Playing behind the very capable London Fletcher, Takeo Spikes and Jeff Posey makes his chance at fantasy value very slim, if he even makes the team.
Haggan was called up to 53-man roster in Week 11 and played briefly on special teams in 2003. The new coaching staff must decide if his raw talent can be polished -- he's a linebacker now, after being more of a defensive end type in college -- which will determine if he's worth keeping around in 2004. The backup linebacker will need a lot of other things to happen to the Bills regulars to have even a hint of roto value. His real contribution is more likely on special teams in '04, if he even makes the final roster.
