Agrees to deal with New Orleans

Trusnik signed a contract Wednesday with the Saints, Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports.

ANALYSIS
Trusnik will provide the Saints with some depth at outside linebacker, but he's expected to make his biggest impact with New Orleans' special teams units. The 32-year-old has been out of the NFL this season after appearing in eight games with the Vikings in 2015.

Trusnik, who recorded 25 tackles last season, remains in the Dolphins' middle linebacker depth mix.

Trusnik had 25 tackles last season but is not better than third on the Dolphins depth chart at middle linebacker. Quite a few things would have to go wrong in Miami for Trusnik to get considerable playing time this season.

Trusnik will get another chance to impress a different coaching staff after failing to do so under the old regime next season. He could be a reserve LB this season or could be sent packing come cut down day.

Trusnik was recommended to the Dolphins by a couple of former coaches. He will backup Cameron Wake at WLB.

Will likely be used on special teams and as a backup, but could work his way into the starting lineup should the Browns' linebackers catch the injury bug.
