Acho was released by the Eagles on Friday, Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly reports.

ANALYSIS
Acho was expected to compete for a roster spot on the Eagles but appears to have missed the cut. He missed the entire 2012 season due to injury and was released by the Eagles in December of last year as well.

With the addition of Kiko Alonso and rookie Jordan Hicks in the offseason, the Eagles’ inside linebacker position is crowded. Acho recorded 31 tackles in a reserve role last year and will continue to compete for depth slotting in the Eagles' defense.

Competing for a roster spot at ILB.

Traded from Cleveland to Philadelphia in the offseason, Acho will try to earn a roster spot in the middle of Philadelphia's 3-4. He's competing wit the likes of Jason Phillips and Casey Matthews.

Acho will compete for a spot in the linebacker rotation in 2012. Despite being a 6th round draft choice, he has some things going in his favor to help him get on the field in his rookie campaign. He has NFL bloodlines as his brother Sam was drafted and enjoyed a solid first year in Arizona in 2011, he has experience playing both inside and outside in the 4-3 scheme while at Texas, and the possible suspension of fellow linebacker Scott Fujita could open up some playing time. Regardless of the opportunity, Acho will see most of his snaps on special teams.
