2017 Fantasy Outlook
Walker was one of the most disruptive rushers in the nation over the past two seasons, tallying 25 sacks, 33.5 tackles for a loss, and six forced fumbles. His 16 sacks in 2016 ranked second in the NCAA. Labeled a tweener -- not quite athletic enough to live on the edge and not big enough to kick inside full-time for most teams -- Walker slid toward the back end of the second round, but he slots in well as a sub-package rusher for a Denver team desperate for some interior push after letting Malik Jackson walk last offseason. Walker ran a 4.76-second 40-yard dash while weight 281 pounds at his pro day. That kind of bust can be deadly coming from the interior. His lack of length and bulk probably means that he won't be in line for a starting job in the near future, but neither Jared Crick nor Adam Gotsis -- the favorites to start opposite Derek Wolfe -- are particularly threatening on passing downs. A front line of Von Miller, Shane Ray, Wolfe, and Walker is likely on sub-packages this season, giving Walker plenty of opportunities to collect sacks from the interior.
