Jennings' contract has been terminated by the 49ers, the team's official site reports.

ANALYSIS
This came as no surprise as Jennings has been injured during most of his four-year tenure with the 49ers. He has played in just 23 of the team's 64 games during that four-year stretch, finishing three of those four seasons on the injured reserve. Recently signed offensive tackle Marvel Smith is expected to fill in the void left by Jennings at right tackle.

Jennings is slated to be the 49ers' starting LT in 2008.

Jennings is expected to be ready for training camp undergoing surgery in January to repair his dislocated right shoulder. He has missed all or parts of 20 games in the two seasons he's been with the 49ers due to an assortment of injuries. If healthy, Jennings will be the starting left tackle, backed up by Adam Snyder, Joe Staley and Harvey Dahl.

Starting left tackle, coming off of arthroscopic surgery to remove loose particles in his knee and a shoulder procedure that cost him most of the 2005 season.
