Pascoe was released by the Patriots on Monday, Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
A 30-year-old blocking specialist, Pascoe was always a long shot to make the final roster, as the Patriots have a slew of tight ends competing for the No. 3 job behind Rob Gronkowski (undisclosed) and Martellus Bennett. Pascoe has just 40 career receptions in 82 games.

Pascoe remains off the fantasy radar due to the presence of Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett ahead of him on the Patriots' TE depth chart.
Despite being aptly named, Pascoe isn’t a lock to crack the Chicago roster after signing in late April on a one-year deal. That said, Pascoe is a road-grading run blocker, which might give him an inside track on a reserve role over the more receiving-oriented Zach Miller if the Bears elect to prioritize the ground game under new coordinator Adam Gase. Regardless of whom the Bears elect to keep as their second tight end, reps figure to be limited behind the do-everything Martellus Bennett, who established himself as one of the league’s best at his position during a breakout 2014.
Pascoe will attempt to earn a role as the second tight end in two-tight formations. He'll battle it out with Mickey Shuler for that role, but it appears Levine Toilolo is the Falcons tight end to own.
Will back up Brandon Myers at tight end. Pascoe, who has also seen time at fullback, is more of a blocker than a pass receiver.
Pascoe has a chance to start at tight end, but his forte is blocking, not catching passes. As a result, Martellus Bennett is the Giants' tight end to own, no Pascoe.
Will be the team's starting fullback, but won't be heavily involved in the offense.
Will compete for a reserve tight end job.
Pascoe will add depth at tight end behind Vernon Davis. Most of his action will come as a blocker in double-tight end run sets.
