Closer Watch – A closer look at intriguing ninth-inning situations (also check out our Closer Grid)

Tampa Bay – Kyle Farnsworth entered in the 10th inning of a tie ballgame yesterday and promptly blew it, allowing a walk-off triple from Ramon Santiago. Don't expect one game to impact Joe Maddon's usage of his bullpen too much, but it also wouldn't be shocking to see him play matchups and go to J.P. Howell in some save situations – he already has one save this year.

Scott Baker, P, MIN - It's funny how some guys can slip under the fantasy radar. Scott Baker is unowned in a majority of leagues despite a 1.22 WHIP, a 3.55 ERA, and an 8.4 K/9 rate, all numbers which are well above the league average. Sure, the Twins have struggled to win, but Baker has done his work, managing a 4-4 record despite the team's poor but improving record. With Baker well above average in three of the four categories for starters, and with the projection systems expecting continued success, it's hard to imagine what is keeping him on the waiver wire in so many leagues.
