Closer Watch
Cubs - Carlos Marmol picked up his third save of the season for the Cubs on Friday, his first since May 2, but his performance was not one that instilled confidence for the fans and management of the North-siders. With a three run lead, Marmol pitched himself into a bases loaded situation, with two outs against Dustin Pedroia, who grounded out on Marmol's 29th pitch of the ninth. Even though Marmol got the save Friday, but don't be surprised if he isn't called upon next time the Cubs need someone to close out the game.

Blue Jays - Casey Janssen has been the man the Blue Jays have called upon to end their games as of late, and he has given his team the confidence they need to continue to do so. With a shotout to preserve, Janssen came in against Philadephia and recorded three outs with a mere 12 pitches. Janssen started the season with only nine saves, but it seems likely that he will end this season with a couple dozen more
than that.

Dodgers - One of the best teams in the league has one of the least known closers in Kenley Jansen, who picked up save number 11 of the season against the White Sox on Friday. The Dodgers have shown that they are not afraid to put him in during close games, but it hasn't always been a winning strategy. In Jansen's last four appearances he came on in the ninth, in two of them he was given a save situation and converted them with two strikeouts a piece, but in the other two that were tied games he gave up the game winning runs.

Recommended Pickup
Trevor Plouffe, UTL, MIN -- Plouffe has been one of the best, if not the best, offensive fantasy option in all of MLB since June 8. He has only gone two game in that time period where he has not hit a home run! Plouffe has put up an amazing fantasy line in the 29 at-bats he has had since June 8 including, 7 HRs, 11 runs, 12 RBIs, while raising his average 40 points! If he is available in your league, there is no reason to not get him as he is eligible in certain leagues at just about every position but catcher, center field, and pitcher.
