2024 Fantasy Outlook
Lashley is entering his seventh season on the PGA Tour which is pretty impressive considering he lacks an elite skill. The strength of his game is his iron play, as he ranked 45th in strokes-gained approach last season but is mostly average in every other facet. To his credit, he doesn't make a lot of mistakes, ranking 39th in bogey avoidance and ultimately posted three top-10s against weaker fields. A one-time Tour winner back in 2019, it would be a surprise to see Lashley win again due to his limited ceiling, but his floor is safe enough to have another respectable year with several top-25 results. Scuffles in Round 4
March 18, 2024
Lashley shot an even-par 72 on Sunday at the PLAYERS Championship to tie for 13th place.
ANALYSIS
Lashley had his worst round of the tournament shooting five bogeys and five birdies in Round 4 to fall five spots on the leaderboard. Still, the 41-year-old should be happy with his finish after missing the cut in four straight events entering the PLAYERS. Lashley was middle of the pack at the tournament with his driver and his putter, but made up for it with the third best SG: Approach-to-green in the field.

Lashley had a solid seasons for his standards, recording eight top-25 results while qualifying for the FedEx Cup Playoffs after missing it the year prior. He's another one of the mid-level Tour pros that doesn't do anything that well but lacks a big deficiency in his game. Still, that lack of upside makes other golfers with more boom/bust potential more intriguing.
Seeing a pair of top-5 finishes would make you think that it was a good season for Lashley at first glance, but he only recorded one other top-25 on the season and missed out on the playoffs as a result. The bright side is that he'll still have full status on tour due to his 2019 win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Even so, his play last season makes it difficult to have much optimism heading into 2021-22.
Lashley had a pretty good start to last season, but after a T3 at the WMPO, he made just two cuts in his last 10 starts. The 2019 Rocket Mortgage Classic winner back finished outside the top 150 this past season in both SG: Total and scoring average. Lashley doesn't have much upside.
Lashley's story is well documented. He went through more than any one person should go through yet he somehow managed to reach the pinnacle of his profession by winning on the PGA Tour. His win came out of nowhere as at the age of 36, he was relatively unknown on the PGA Tour. Though he obviously has a lot of fight in him, it's hard to imagine that he can play any better than he did last season. At least, it's hard to imagine him playing significantly better than he did this past season.
Lashley first appeared on the Web.com Tour way back when in 2006, but at the age of 34 years old, he's finally earned a coveted PGA Tour card after finishing 11th on the Web.com's 2017 regular season money list. This was essentially made possibly by a win at the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship in May, while he also posted top-25s in just over half of his starts throughout the season. He ranked a dismal 107th in total driving and 83rd in ball striking, but made up for it with an impressive short game as he was third in scrambling.
