Solid in return to action
October 24, 2016
Hansen finished T3 at the Portugal Masters after carding rounds of 67-66-62-68.
ANALYSIS
Heading into the final nine of the week, Hansen sat on top of the leaderboard with a one stroke lead over Padraig Harrington. The Dane was ultimately unable to retain his spot on top, however, as he failed to make any birdies to close. Overall, though, it was still an impressive outing for the former top 25 golfer in the world. It seems unlikely that he will return to anywhere near his old form, but this is certainly a step in the right direction.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2012
2010
Hansen has been a solid player in Europe for a while now, but he's never quite figure out how to play in the States. He did, however, play well enough to post a Top-3 at the PGA Championship last August, which accounted for nearly all his non-member earnings last year. Hansen had one of his better seasons last year, but don't expect him to build on that this year. He'll turn 42 late in the season and the grind could get to him. One other consideration, with what looks like one of his final chances to make the Ryder Cup this fall, he'll probably focus more on events in Europe rather than the States.
Hansen had an improved 2009 season moving up from 89th to 40th in the 2009 final Official World Golf Rankings.
