DraftKings NHL: Sunday Picks
DraftKings NHL: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Jeff Glass, CHI vs. DET ($8,000): Detroit lost its fourth consecutive road game to Pittsburgh on Saturday and enters this contest scoring just 2.35 goals per 60 minutes away from Motor City. Glass has shown some game-to-game inconsistency, but he's also won three of five starts with a respectable .918 save percentage. The Blackhawks have also allowed just 2.3 goals per home game this season.

CENTER

Evgeni Malkin, PIT vs. NYR ($7,300): The go-to scorer has collected 12 goals and 13 helpers through 19 games since returning from an upper-body injury, and he's also sporting a high-end 3.41 points per 60 minutes for the campaign. The Rangers were shellacked 7-2 by the Islanders on Saturday, and Henrik Lundqvist will likely take the crease after entering in relief the day before. The Rangers are also allowing the third most high-danger scoring chances per hour (12.51) in the league.

Jordan Staal, CAR vs. CGY ($4,500): Sporting a five-game point streak with three goals and three assists, Staal's salary doesn't match his current form. While the Flames are rollong with six consecutive wins, the veteran center might also fly under the radar and carry a low ownership percentage. It's definitely worth noting that this is Calgary's final outing of a four-game road trip and the last game before its six-day bye.

WING

Mikael Granlund, MIN vs. VAN ($6,200): While the Wild are on the second leg of a back-to-back set, the Canucks are also playing their fifth road game in eight nights. Additionally, considering Vancouver sports an active 3-11-2 record while allowing 4.14 goals per 60 minutes, this should still be viewed as a favorable matchup for the Granlund and the Wild. The winger is also scoring in bunches of late with six tallies and seven helpers through his past nine contests.

Sebastian Aho, CAR vs. CGY ($5,800): Locked in offensively, Aho has scored nine times and added five assists through his past 10 contests, and his 1.22 goals and 2.83 points per 60 minutes for the campaign are both excellent marks. There's profit in his price, and similar to linemate Jordan Staal, the Finn could offer contrarian value against the red-hot Flames.

Brandon Saad, CHI vs. DET ($5,600): The winger has recorded 12 shots during his current three-game point drought, and he also notched two goals and four assists through the four contests preceding this current slump. With a favorable home matchup against Detroit and a manageable salary, look for Saad to return to form and provide nice value. The Red Wings have allowed 14 goals through four consecutive road losses, after all.

DEFENSE

Duncan Keith, CHI vs. DET ($5,300): As noted, this checks out as a strong matchup for Keith and the Blackhawks. The veteran has only found the scoresheet in two of his past seven outings, but he's been able to maintain a nice fantasy floor by registering 16 shots and 11 blocked shots while logging 24:58 of ice time (2:17 on the power play) during the stretch. This salary isn't prohibitive, so banking on Keith's hefty role is advised from this shallow player pool.

Ryan Suter, MIN vs. VAN ($5,200): Dating back to Dec. 1, Suter has recorded three goals and 15 points through 20 games. He continues to log huge minutes and draws into the previously noted soft matchup against Vancouver. Additionally, the 32-year-old defenseman also moves the needle in the peripheral categories with 2.16 shots and 1.82 blocked shots per contest.
