FantasyDraft NHL: Friday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

Friday was to be the penultimate day of the NHL regular season until a game between the Panthers and Bruins got postponed. It's something of an appetizer for Saturday's big slate. There are only four games Friday, and here are my daily fantasy recommendations.

GOALIE

Anaheim Ducks, ANA vs. DAL ($16,600): Anaheim is on an 8-1-1 run, while the Stars are 3-5-2 in their last 10 contests. Dallas has also only scored 2.40 goals per game since the All-Star break. John Gibson is still day-to-day, but even if he can't play Ryan Miller has a 2.43 GAA and .927 save percentage this season.

CENTER

Brayden Point, TAM vs. BUF ($13,300): Point has enjoyed a true breakout season, as he has 31 goals and 34 assists in 80 games. Additionally, with Steven Stamkos banged up, Point has an even bigger role for the Lightning, which includes added power-play time. The Sabres, meanwhile, have a 3.34 GAA, third highest in the NHL. They've also clinched the worst record in the league, so they have literally nothing to play for.

Kyle Brodziak, STL at CHI ($7,500): Since the trade of Paul Stastny, Brodziak has moved up to be St. Louis' second-line center. Over his last nine games, he's averaged 17:23 in ice time, and he's also tallied seven points in that span. The Blackhawks have a 3.58 GAA since the All-Star break, so Brodziak has the potential to be a nice value play.

WING

Patric Hornqvist, PIT vs. OTT ($13,800): Hornqvist has a six-game point streak, and he's been a prolific shooter since returning from injury. Over his last 19 games, he's put a whopping 89 shots on net (and he's notched 11 goals in that time). Ottawa has a 3.44 GAA, which is second highest in the league, and its penalty kill is ranked 28th to boot.

J.T. Miller, TAM vs. BUF ($12,700): Miller has tallied 17 points in 17 games since being traded to the Lightning. Ten of those have been goals, and five of those goals have come with the extra man. As mentioned earlier, the Sabres have a 3.34 GAA, third highest in the league.

Mike Hoffman, OTT at PIT ($12,400): The Penguins are the only team on the second night of a back-to-back Friday, as they are the only team without a game Saturday. Pittsburgh has a 3.05 GAA overall, but on zero days of rest that shoots up to 3.44. Hoffman's 8.7 shooting percentage has hurt his numbers, but he still has 22 goals on 253 shots. Hey, there's still a little time for him left to get some puck luck.

DEFENSEMEN

Duncan Keith, CHI vs. STL ($8,900): Keith finally scored his second goal of the season and, funnily enough, it was against the Blues in Chicago's last game. He's put 186 shots on net, giving him an almost impossibly low 1.1 shooting percentage. However, he still managed to carve out a decent fantasy campaign thanks to 30 assists and 159 blocked shots on top of everything else. Carter Hutton has barely been able to play recently, leaving Jake Allen to shoulder the load in net. He has a .906 save percentage, but over his last four games that number has dropped to .869.

Vince Dunn, STL at CHI ($7,100): Dunn has started 60.3 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest among St. Louis defensemen. He's been a decent secondary contributor from the blue line, notching 24 points in 73 games, including nine on the power play. The Blackhawks have a 3.58 GAA and .891 save percentage since the All-Star break, so maybe Dunn will be a pleasant surprise Friday.
