FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Daylight Saving Time ends Saturday, which means we'll be setting our clocks back an hour. Hey, that's another hour to enjoy hockey! There are 11 NHL games Saturday night, and here are my recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup.

GOALIE

Sergei Bobrovsky, CLM at LOS ($8,600): Bobrovsky has gotten off to a slow start to the season, but he's allowed only one goal in each of his last two outings. Plus, he has a track record to believe in, winning a Vezina two seasons ago and posting a .921 save percentage last year. This is also a potentially favorable matchup, since the Kings come in having scored a league-low 2.00 goals per game.

CENTER

Logan Couture, SAN vs. PHI ($7,300): Couture has been killing it out of the gate, with six goals and nine assists through 13 games. This comes after he struck for 34 goals last season. The Flyers own a 3.85 GAA – the highest in the NHL – and Brian Elliott enters with an .893 save percentage.

Ryan O'Reilly, STL vs. MIN ($6,200): O'Reilly has taken to being a Blue, with 15 points in 11 games. He's been helped by the fact he's averaged 4:00 per game on the power play, notching six points in the process. Meanwhile, the Wild have given up 34.8 shots on net per game, and last season they struggled to a 3.41 GAA on the road.

WING

Jonathan Marchessault, VGK vs. CAR ($7,300): Marchessault played a big part in Vegas' magical run last year, tallying 75 points. He's got 13 points this year, and he's put 59 shots on net through 13 contests. The Hurricanes are the only team playing the second night of a back-to-back Saturday, and they are also on the road. Given their goaltending issues, that bodes well for the defending Western Conference champs.

Jason Zucker, MIN at STL ($5,500): Zucker broke out last year, notching 33 goals. He's only potted four goals this season, but his shooting percentage is only 9.1, which is well below his career average. There's room for him to improve, but the same goes for the Blues and their 3.82 GAA. They may not improve much, given Jake Allen's .906 save percentage from last year.

Anthony Duclair, CLM at LOS ($3,700): The Blue Jackets have done everything they can to make things easy for Duclair in his first year with the Blue Jackets. He's started 68.0 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone – second highest on the team – and has played 2:51 per game with the extra man. With Jonathan Quick out again, Jack Campbell is getting his first real NHL playing time and has responded with a 2.89 GAA and .906 save percentage.

DEFENSE

Duncan Keith, CHI at CGY ($5,300): Keith is getting a bit of déjà vu, as he's managed zero goals despite putting 27 shots on net after scoring two goals on 187 shots last year. However, he has seven assists, and he's also averaged 2:45 per game on the power play. That could pay off here, as the Flames rank 27th on the penalty kill. He's going to score eventually, and until then he's still clearly involved offensively.

Oscar Klefbom, EDM at DET ($5,000): Klefbom has played a lot of minutes for the Oilers for a few years, but he's taken it to the next level this season. He's averaged 26:01 per game in ice time, including 4:33 on the power play. Like Keith, he hasn't registered a goal, but he does have 39 shots on net in 12 games. The Red Wings, meanwhile, sport a 3.69 GAA and have given up 34.0 shots on goal per contest.
