FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

The NHL schedule is pretty packed Tuesday, as there are nine games on the slate. That gives you a lot of options for your daily fantasy lineup. To try and make your decisions easier, here are my recommendations.

GOALIE

Frederik Andersen, TOR at LOS ($8,700): Andersen has been on an absolute tear recently, as over his last seven starts he has a 1.44 GAA and .955 save percentage. The Kings' offense has been rather punchless this year, as they've scored a mere 2.06 goals per game. That's lowest in the NHL. Additionally, Los Angeles is down their top-two goalies, which lowers their chances of winning one assumes.

CENTER

Vincent Trocheck, FLA at PHI ($6,600): Trocheck has 12 points in 14 games, even though he has only three goals. That should improve, though, as his shooting percentage is only 7.3, which is bound to improve. The Flyers have a 3.53 GAA, and on top of that their penalty kill ranks 30th. That bodes well for Trocheck, as he's averaged 4:32 per game on the power play.

Mathew Barzal, NYI vs. VAN ($5,800): Barzal had 63 assists as a rookie, and he already has 12 this year through 16 games. Seven of those assists have come on the power play, and last year he had 27 points with the extra man. The Canucks will be on the road for their second game of a back-to-back. That could mean third-string goalie Richard Bachman in net for Vancouver.

WING

Clayton Keller, ARI at DET ($6,200): Keller wasn't quite as good as a rookie as Barzal, but he still had 65 points last year. He's been building on that as a sophomore, and he has 11 points in his last 11 games. The Red Wings have a 3.47 GAA, and on top of that they have given up a whopping 35.8 shots on goal per contest.

Josh Bailey, NYI vs. VAN ($5,800): Bailey hasn't lost a step despite the absence of John Tavares. He has 17 points through 16 games, including seven on the power play. The power play was where Bailey made his bread last year, as he had an impressive 31 points with the extra man. As previously stated, the Canucks are on the road playing their second game in as many nights. Unless Jacob Markstrom starts on back-to-back nights, Richard Bachman, a 31-year-old journeyman, will get his first action in the NHL in two years.

Patrick Marleau, TOR at LOS ($5,700): After a slow start to the season, Marleau has four points in his last five games. Though he's now 39, last year he had 27 goals, so it's not like he's been running on fumes. As I said earlier, the Kings are down there top two goalies. Peter Budaj, who had an .876 save percentage in limited action last year, will be getting the start.

DEFENSE

Keith Yandle, FLA at PHI ($5,600): Yandle has a seven-game point streak, which gives him 15 points in 14 games. He's also put 41 shots on goal and notched eight power-play points for good measure. That last stat is particularly notable in this matchup, given that the Flyers have the 30th-ranked penalty kill.

Jeff Petry, MON at EDM ($4,400): Petry is building off his breakout season last year, as he has 13 points in 17 games. That's despite the fact he only has a 3.3 shooting percentage. With Shea Weber still out, the Ann Arbor native is the top defensive for the Canadiens. The Oilers have a 3.18 GAA, and .894 save percentage, and beyond that they have the 27th-ranked penalty kill.
