DraftKings NHL: Friday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Keith Kinkaid, NJ vs. NYI ($8,000): Kinkaid can further solidify his case to be the team's starter for the rest of the season with another win against the Isles, who have been outscored 11-2 in their past two games. Kinkaid was victorious in his last start in a 5-2 win against the Habs on Wednesday and won three of his past four games. Frederik Andersen ($7,900) could be a nice play as well.

CENTER

Nathan MacKinnon, COL at ARI ($8,000): After a stretch of six games with just two goals scored, the Avalanche's top line has started to go on a roll again. MacKinnon's scored three goals and four assists in his past four games, three of which have been wins. The Coyotes have kept their opponents to two goals or fewer twice in their past three games, though two of those opponents had bottom-10 offenses. The Avs are second in goals for per game.

Max Domi, MON at BUF ($6,600): This one's going to be fun. Buffalo was rocking after extending its winning streak to seven, and the Habs have shown quite a bit of jump and aggression since moving Domi to center. He's riding an 11-game point streak and won't have much trouble cutting through the Sabres forwards. He's already scored five points in two games against them this season.

WING

Patrik Laine, WPG at MIN ($7,200): Good luck, Dubnyk! Laine enters the game with five goals in his past two games, and the Wild have taken 94 penalties this season, fifth most in the league. Blake Wheeler and Laine have propelled the power play to second in the league, and with teams scoring at higher rates than ever with the man advantage, even the Wild's third-ranked penalty kill may have some trouble keeping them off the board.

Filip Forsberg, NSH at STL ($6,700): He's scored a goal in two consecutive games, including one against the Blues on Wednesday as they conclude a home-and-home series. His shooting percentage is at a career high and so is his goal-scoring pace, and once again the Blues are having trouble winning games with 10 goals allowed in their past three games. Forsberg has always been very productive against their Central Division rival with 22 points in 21 career games.

Rickard Rakell, ANA vs. EDM ($5,400): Rakell hasn't scored a goal since Nov. 1, but not for lack of trying. He's put 17 shots on goal in his past three games, and even without any results, he has managed to stick on the top line. The Oilers may be turning a corner under new head coach Ken Hitchcock, but there's no denying goaltending is still a problem.

DEFENSE

Morgan Rielly, TOR at CLS ($6,800): Rielly leads all NHL defensemen in points. The Jackets have been surprisingly subpar at home, while the Leafs are 9-2-0 on the road, and the Leafs' seventh-ranked power play should have no problems against the Jackets' 21st penalty kill. It should be a tight game, but the Leafs will likely have the edge and Rielly has come up big all season.

Victor Hedman, TB vs. CHI ($5,400): The giant Swede has woken up with a goal and three assists in his past three games, and since his return from injury, the Lightning have scored at least three goals in four of six games. Corey Crawford is expected to start and has been somewhat of a feel-good story this season, but he's also had some poor games in between. The Blackhawks just don't have the depth to match the Lightning, especially down in Tampa.
