FanDuel NHL: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

There are only six NHL games Sunday, and the earliest one starts at 3:00 PM ET. That feels doable in terms of getting a lineup in for most people, so let's focus on the all-day slate for daily fantasy purposes. If you would like, you can just play the four-game slate that starts at 7:00 PM, but here are my recommendations based on all 12 teams in action Sunday.

GOALIE

David Rittich, CGY at CHI ($7,500): You may not want to completely buy into Rittich, but the guy has a 2.21 GAA and .924 save percentage in 13 games. At this price, those numbers look like a steal. On top of that, the Flames were off yesterday while the Blackhawks were in Nashville. That's another point in Rittich's favor.

CENTER

Max Domi, MON vs. SAN ($6,600): After a rare three-game respite of not scoring, Domi picked up an assist Saturday to go along with five shots on net. He now has racked up 27 points in 26 games, so clearly the trade to Montreal has worked well for him. The Sharks also played a game Saturday, so Aaron Dell and his 2.88 GAA and .904 save percentage will likely be in net.

Sebastian Aho, CAR at LOS ($6,200): Aho has posted 26 points in 25 games, even though his 10.4 shooting percentage marks the lowest of his career. He's also averaged 3:08 per game on the power play, notching seven points with the extra man. That's not surprising, as he's never had fewer than 16 power-play points in a season. As well, the Kings own the 29th-ranked penalty kill.

WING

Elias Lindholm, CGY at CHI ($6,400): Lindholm is another player enjoying his move to a Canadian team. He's tallied 26 points in 26 games, and his minutes – including those on the power play – have increased dramatically. The Blackhawks enter with the NHL's second-highest GAA, and they are on the second night of a back-to-back. Corey Crawford will be in net, and he has struggled to a 5.64 GAA and .832 save percentage over his last four starts.

J.T. Compher, COL at DET ($4,500): Believe it or not, Compher has averaged 12.4 fantasy points per game. The sample size of 10 games is a little small, but he has struck for six goals and two assists. Detroit played Saturday, and they used Jimmy Howard in net. That could mean Jonathan Bernier tending goal for this one. He's really struggled this year to the tune of a 3.63 GAA and .892 save percentage.

Kevin Labanc, SAN at MON ($4,400): Labanc has started 64.2 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest among San Jose forwards. It's been paying off recently, with five points in his last six contests. The Canadiens are another team on the second day of a back-to-back and they will likely be starting Antti Niemi, who comes in with a 3.61 GAA and .893 save percentage.

DEFENSE

Shea Weber, MON vs. SAN ($5,500) Weber seems pretty much back up to speed after his lengthy injury absence. He's only played in two games, but he has registered two goals, and assist, and eight shots on net. We know from past seasons just how good the 33-year-old is when healthy. Now he gets to go up against a Sharks team on the road for the second game of a back-to-back, with Aaron Dell and his .904 save percentage likely in net.

Noah Hanifin, CGY at CHI ($4,000): Hanifin had 10 goals and 32 points as a 20-year-old last season, and he already has totaled 11 points in 26 games this year. He's also seen an increase in ice time, averaging 20:20 per game. The Blackhawks posted a 3.65 GAA this year before giving up five goals to the Predators last night, while also owning the 28th-ranked penalty kill.
