FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Tuesday is packed to the brim with hockey goodness. There are 10 NHL games on the slate, which means 20 teams are in action. Here are some recommendations for where to turn for value…

GOALIE

Braden Holtby, WAS at VGK ($8,600): Holtby got off to a slow start, which was concerning given the rough year he had last season, but he's turned it around recently. Over his last nine starts he has a 2.20 GAA and .934 save percentage. The Golden Knights have scored 2.89 goals per game, 20th in the NHL, and they are missing both Paul Stastny and Erik Haula at center now.

CENTER

Dylan Larkin, DET vs. TAM ($6,500): Larkin has showed promise since he was a rookie, but it seems like he's taking his game to a new level. He has 10 goals on 92 shots through 27 games, and he's added 12 assists as well. The Lightning are on the road for the second game of a back-to-back, which is extra problematic for them as Andrei Vasilevskiy is out with a foot injury. That will either mean back-to-back starts for Louis Domingue, or the first NHL appearance of Edward Pasquale.

David Krejci, BOS at FLA ($5,600): Krejci only has two goals this season, but that's largely due to a 5.3 shooting percentage that's well below his career average. He has 17 assists to his name as well, so it's not like he's struggled to score. The Panthers have a 3.56 GAA, and their penalty kill ranks 27th. That bodes well for Krejci, as he has seven points with the extra man.

WING

Zach Parise, MIN at VAN ($6,500): Parise didn't notch a point in his last game, but that ended a six-game point streak. The veteran already has 12 goals and 10 assists through 25 games, so he's played well beyond that one streak. On the other hand, the Canucks have not played well defensively. They have a 3.45 GAA.

Tomas Tatar, MON vs. OTT ($6,100): Montreal seems to be suiting Tatar quite well. He has 21 points through 27 games, and he's also averaged 2:57 per game with the extra man to boot. The Senators are, of course, as good of a matchup as you are going to the get. They have a 4.04 GAA and the league's worst penalty kill, two things that are intertwined.

Josh Bailey, NYI vs. WPG ($5,700): Even without John Tavares, Bailey has been just fine. He has seven goals and 22 points through 25 games. The 28-year-old is also still a power-play weapon. He's averaged 3:20 per contest with the extra man, notching eight points in that time. Connor Hellebuyck was great last year, but this season he's struggled to the tune of a 3.07 GAA and .902 save percentage.

DEFENSE

Thomas Chabot, OTT at MON ($5,700): At this point, it feels like there's no slowing Chabot down. The 21-year-old has averaged 24:00 per game in ice time, and tallied a whopping 31 points in 27 contests. Montreal hasn't been as bad as Ottawa defensively, but it hasn't been good. The Habs have a 3.26 GAA and .895 save percentage.

Shea Weber, MON vs. OTT ($5,700): The Canadiens have eased Weber back in from injury, as he's started 61.9 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone. He doesn't look like he needs much help, though, as he has three points and 11 shots on net through three games. Now he's facing a Senators team with a 4.04 GAA that has also allowed 37.9 shots on net per contest. Sounds like Weber will still be able to ease himself back into action, but this time it could pay off for your fantasy lineup.
