FanDuel NHL: Thursday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Thursday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

On Thursday, the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament begins. Meanwhile, there are 16 NHL teams in action Thursday. Coincidence? Probably, but here are my recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup anyway.

GOALIE

Jacob Markstrom, VAN vs. LOS ($8,100): Markstrom's last few starts have been a little iffy, but since the beginning of February he has a 2.68 GAA and .918 save percentage in 21 outings. This matchup should help the Swede get back on track, as the Kings have only managed 2.18 goals per game on the road.

CENTER

Dylan Larkin, DET at BUF ($7,100): This game has the makings of a high-scoring affair, so keep an eye on the Red Wings and Sabres. That includes Larkin, who has a career-high 64 points in 70 games. Meanwhile, Buffalo has a 3.85 GAA since the All-Star break, highest in the NHL by a wide margin.

Vincent Trocheck, FLA at OTT ($5,700): Trocheck has notched a point in four of his last five games. Three of those have come with the extra man, and he also put 19 shots on net in that time. The Senators have had the league's highest GAA basically all season, and that remains true. Ottawa has a 3.64 GAA.

WING

Brock Boeser, VAN vs. LOS ($7,200): The Canucks are quite top heavy, so there aren't really any cheaper options out there. Fortunately, Boeser seems likely to provide bang for your buck anyway. He recently had a nine-game point streak, and he has 14 power-play points in 64 games. The Kings have many problems, and one of those is the fact they have the 29th-ranked penalty kill.

Kevin Labanc, SAN vs. CHI ($5,300): Labanc has started 59.4 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest among Sharks forwards. He's also notched 18 points with the extra man in 76 contests. That bodes well, as the Blackhawks have the league's worst penalty kill.

Anthony Duclair, OTT vs. FLA ($3,900): Changing teams once again seems to have lit a fire under Duclair. Since being dealt to the Senators, he has nine points in 15 games. He may be able to keep that up against the Panthers, as they have a 3.85 GAA in away contests.

DEFENSE

Thomas Chabot, OTT vs. FLA ($4,700): Since returning from injury, Chabot has three points in two games, including two with the extra man. That gives him 52 points in 64 games, and the trades around him haven't seemed to slow him down. Plus, as previously noted, the Panthers have a 3.85 GAA on the road.

Rasmus Dahlin, BUF vs. DET ($4,600): While Rasmus Ristolainen has struggled recently, Dahlin has been playing some strong hockey. He recently had a four-game point streak, giving him 41 points in 76 contests. The Wings have a 3.44 GAA since the All-Star break, but beyond that they have a 3.51 GAA on the road as well.
