DraftKings NHL: Saturday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

Four college basketball teams will be vying to make the Final Four on Saturday, while a few hockey teams are still trying to fight their way into the final 16, aka the postseason. There are 10 NHL games Saturday night, and some of those teams have playoff dreams. If you have daily fantasy hockey dreams, here are my lineup recommendations.

GOALIE

Jacob Markstrom, VAN vs. DAL ($7,900): Markstrom has a 2.78 GAA and .912 save percentage, which are solid numbers in this offensive season. Mostly, though, this is about the Stars' offensive issues on the road. Away from home, they've averaged 2.28 goals and 27.7 shots on net per contest.

CENTER

Dylan Strome, CHI at LOS ($5,300): Strome ended a scoring drought in his last game, but his struggles with the Blackhawks have been few and far between. In 53 games since being dealt to Chicago he has 45 points in 53 games. Few players have gone cold against the Kings recently, as they have a 3.44 GAA since the All-Star break.

Anze Kopitar, LOS vs. CHI ($5,200): Kopitar has eight points in his last seven games, including four with the extra man. That gives him 17 power-play points, weirdly all assists. Whether it's a first goal or another assist, the Slovenian could be in line for more power-play success. The Blackhawks have the league's worst penalty kill.

WING

Zach Hyman, TOR at OTT ($4,900): Hyman has been skating on a line with John Tavares and Mitch Marner basically all season, but it's really been paying off recently. Over his last seven games he has six points, including four goals. Don't be surprised if he stays hot, as the Senators have a 3.66 GAA, worst in the league.

Kevin Labanc, SAN vs. VGK ($4,300): Labanc has started 59.5 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest among San Jose forwards. It's paid off recently, as he has 12 points in his last 15 contests. The Golden Knights have a middling 3.08 GAA on the road, and they are also on the second night of a back-to-back.

Josh Bailey, NYI vs. BUF ($3,900): After a bit of a scoring drought, Bailey has four points in his last four games. That gives him 54 points in 78 contests. Matchups don't get any better than the Sabres right now, though. Buffalo has a 3.89 GAA since the All-Star break, highest in the NHL.

DEFENSE

Oscar Klefbom, EDM vs. ANA ($5,300): Klefbom missed a chunk of the season with injury, but over his last 10 games he has eight points. He's still also a prolific shooter, as the Swede has put 156 shots on net in 56 contests. The Ducks have given up 33.4 shots on net per game on the road, and they are also on the second night of a back-to-back.

Drew Doughty, LOS vs. CHI ($4,700): Doughty has tallied 42 points on the season, but most of his damage has come with the extra man. The veteran defenseman has 23 power-play points in 77 games. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks have the league's worst penalty kill, so I don't need to tell you that makes this a rather favorable matchup.
