Saturday's NHL slate begins at 3:00 PM Eastern time and features Game 2s from four different series. Read on to see which players stand out as the top value plays and which ones are best avoided at their respective prices.
GOALIE
Pekka Rinne, NSH vs. DAL ($32): Dallas was able to steal Game 1, but a sharper effort from the Predators is likely to come in Game 2. Rinne in particular should rebound after Wednesday's 3-2 loss considering the Stars averaged just 2.24 goals per game on the road in the regular season -- third-fewest in the league and 0.39 fewer than the next-worst playoff team.
GOALIE TO AVOID
Philipp Grubauer, COL at CGY ($35): Grubauer was hot to close out the regular season, but he doesn't have much playoff pedigree. He was yanked from the starting job last postseason and isn't off to a strong start after allowing three goals on 31 shots in a 4-0 Game 1 loss. At $35, the German netminder's best avoided.
CENTER
Patrice Bergeron, BOS vs. TOR ($34): This series was expected to be highly competitive, so it's no surprise Toronto was able to steal Game 1 on the road. It also wouldn't be surprising to see the pendulum swing back Boston's way, and Bergeron could well be the man responsible for such an occurrence. He's been nearly unstoppable on home ice all season, recording 50 points (21 goals) in 33 regular-season tilts at TD Garden before scoring the Bruins' lone Game 1 goal.
CENTER TO AVOID
Auston Matthews, TOR at BOS ($32): Matthews has been cold lately, posting just one assist without a goal and a minus-4 rating in his last five games. He's not even the most enticing $32 center on his team -- that distinction goes to John Tavares, who had a goal and an assist in Game 1.
WINGS
Matthew Tkachuk, CGY vs. COL ($27): Tkachuk's game is built for the postseason, as he uses his 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame to get to the dirty areas and has the skills to capitalize when he gets there. After posting two goals in Game 1, the young power forward is likely to keep building on his 34-goal, 77-point regular season.
Alex Kerfoot, COL at CGY ($14): The Avalanche reunited their three best forwards as they tried to erase a deficit late, but Kerfoot spent most of the game prior to that skating on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog while Mikko Rantanen worked on the second line to balance the lineup. There's a good chance Colorado reverts back to its early-game lineup for Game 2, and sharing the ice with two elite skaters makes Kerfoot a very appealing option at just $14. He's also a factor on the power play, where he scored 16 of his 42 points this season.
WINGS TO AVOID
Andrew Mangiapane, CGY vs. COL ($15): Mangiapane scored the first goal of this series, but don't count on him repeating that feat. Even among low-cost options, Mangiapane is hard to trust considering he skated a minuscule 7:47 in Game 1.
Jake DeBrusk, BOS vs. TOR ($19): DeBrusk has both injury and performance questions hanging over his head. He has totaled a combined minus-3.5 fantasy points in his past two games and missed practice Friday after crashing hard into the boards during the opener.
DEFENSEMEN
Miro Heiskanen, DAL at NSH ($15): If you're looking for upside from an affordable blueliner, Heiskanen's your guy. While his would-be second goal was instead credited to Alexander Radulov, Heiskanen still finished with a power-play goal and an assist in his first career taste of playoff action. At just $15, it makes sense to turn right back to the third overall pick from the 2017 draft.
John Carlson, WAS vs. CAR ($26): Carlson was arguably the best player on the ice as the Capitals improved to 5-0 against Carolina between the regular season and playoffs, dishing out a trio of first-period helpers. He skated a team-high 25:32, including 5:21 with the extra man. If the Canes continue struggling to stay out of the box, the offensively gifted defenseman will keep picking them apart. He now has two goals and eight assists in the five games against Carolina this season.
DEFENSEMEN TO AVOID
Morgan Rielly, TOR at BOS ($23): Like Matthews, Rielly's another prominent slumping Leaf. Rielly has come up short of 5.0 fantasy points in each of his last seven games. Ending that slump won't be easy on the road against a desperate Bruins team.
Tyson Barrie, COL at CGY ($21): Barrie couldn't get anything going in Game 1, mustering just one shot and a minus-1 rating as the Flames made it a priority to limit his impact and used last change to help do so. A similar turn of events seems to be the most likely scenario for Game 2 in Calgary.
