FanDuel NHL: Sunday Targets

SLATE PREVIEW

The all-day slate will feature six games, with two in the early slate and the remaining four in the main schedule. Three will be the second half of a back-to-back: Blue Jackets at Red Wings (3 p.m. EDT), Panthers at Stars (6 p.m.) and Predators at Blackhawks (8 p.m.).

GOALIES

Pekka Rinne, NSH at CHI ($7,500): The Predators are on a roll with six wins over their past seven games and have now allowed just eight goals during their recent run after a tough stretch in early March. Rinne is coming off two straight victories and his performances on the road (.905 Sv%, 2.93 GAA) have been much better than the ones at home (.887 Sv%, 3.31 GAA).

Jake Oettinger, DAL vs. FLA ($7,400): Oettinger's game has fallen off a bit with nine goals allowed in his past three games, though two of them were against the Lightning. Consistency has plagued the Stars all season, but Oettinger has yet to be pulled this season and will face a Panthers' team that needed late-game heroics from Aaron Ekblad to snap a three-game losing streak sans Aleksander Barkov.

Jordan Binnington, STL vs. ANH ($7,300): Binnington's been a dicey play all season but, he's been decent against the Ducks this season by only allowing two goals the previous meeting and has posted a 2-1-0 record with a 1.69 GAA and .933 Sv% through three games. Excluding the two empty netters the Ducks scored last time out, they've managed to score just six goals from their past four.

VALUE PLAYS

Jason Robertson, DAL vs. FLA ($4,300): Robertson's three-game point streak was snapped on Saturday, but he still contributed four shots in 20 minutes. He has not relinquished his spot in the top-six since getting moved up the lineup and will continue to get lots of opportunities with Alexander Radulov injured.

Daniel Sprong, WSH vs. NYR ($3,400): Sprong didn't have a particularly strong showing playing on the top line, but the Caps ended up with a 4-0 win so it seems unlikely head coach Peter Laviolette will rejig his lines. As long as Sprong stays on the first unit, he offers some offensive upside playing opposite Alex Ovechkin.

Trent Frederic, BOS vs. NJ ($3,000): Listed as a center but playing in Marchand's usual spot on the top line, Frederic skated a season-high 17 minutes and put two shots on goal. The Bruins' top line was certainly less effective with Frederic, but individually it's given a big boost to his fantasy value.

LINE STACKS

Blues vs. Ducks

Brayden Schenn (C - $5,400), Jaden Schwartz (W - $5,600), Vladimir Tarasenko (W - $6,700)

This line has been very good since head coach Craig Berube put them back together, and on Friday they led the way with 10 shots in 11:22 of 5v5 play according to Natural Stat Trick. The xGF model has them scoring 2.56 goals even though they've only scored one goal, and a potential reversion to the mean suggests they're due.

Bruins vs. Devils

David Krejci (C - $5,400), Craig Smith (W - $3,800), Nick Ritchie (W - $4,200)

This trio combined for four points Saturday against the Sabres and led the Bruins with 11:12 in 5v5 TOI and a 79.17 5v5 CF%. The Perfection Line was missing a key ingredient without Brad Marchand and the second line stepped up big time. It should be the case again here with the Bruins again facing an inferior opponent.

DEFENSEMEN

Adam Fox, NYR at WSH ($5,600): Fox managed to notch one assist against Philly on Saturday to extend his point streak to six games and continues to be a dominant force. His four blocked shots included two spectacular ones with the Rangers protecting an empty net and he's one of the top options today given his recent production and extensive usage.

Aaron Ekblad, FLA at DAL ($5,500): Ekblad's always a solid choice on a schedule short on elite defensemen because he's adept at getting shots on net. The Stars are quite good defensively, but their PK certainly hasn't been ranking 20th at just 76.8 percent. Of note, Ekblad's six power-play goals leads all NHL defensemen.

Matt Grzelcyk, BOS vs. NJ ($4,200): It's a favorable matchup for Grzelcyk, who quarterbacks the top power play and skates with Charlie McAvoy. That will give Grzelcyk a lot of opportunities to generate offense as he led all Bruins' defensemen with four shots and 5:02 PP TOI on Saturday against the Sabres while netting his second goal in five games. He might have an easier time Sunday against the Devils' 30th-ranked penalty kill.
