Fransson has been loaned to SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL.
ANALYSIS
Fransson had an outside chance at earning a spot on the Kings' roster in training camp but he'll be better served over in the KHL.

Fransson hasn't done much since being loaned to the KHL back in 2010. He went back to the Swedish Elite League, likely with the hope of rejuvenating his game, but managed just 20 points (one goal, 19 assists) in 48 games as a 26-yea- old. At this point, there's little reason to get excited and it remains to be seen how -- or if -- he fits into the Kings' plans.
Fransson was loaned out to the KHL last year and still hasn't seen any time in North America since being drafted out Sweden. His offensive game is limited though he did chip in 16 points (6 G, 10 A) in 38 games for St. Petersburg. The Kings have plenty of depth of their blueline but might be tempted to see how the 26-year old handles the North American rink and style of play in training camp.
Fransson was signed by the Kings in June after playing seven years in the Swedish Elite League. He's never really put up eye opening numbers (30 points in 54 games is his best effort) but the Kings like what they see. He'll have a chance to earn a spot on the Kings' third pairing if he can handle the transition to the North American game.
Fransson's a stay-at-home defensemen with limited fantasy upside in a system that is stacked with blueliners. There's nothing to get excited about here.
Split time between two teams in the Swedish Elite League as the Kings purchased his rights from the Stars. He is expected to be back in Europe for the 2007-08 season.
Under contract in the Sweedish Elite League for 2006-07.
