Lundqvist has signed with Frolunda of the Swedish Elite League, the Dallas Morning News reports.

It's a one-year pact, but Lundqvist could be returning to Europe for good given how limited the interest was for him on the open market in the NHL this summer.

Lundqvist failed to build upon a solid showing in last year's playoff series against Vancouver, and found himself in the minors for a few weeks as a result. He had just 14 points in 55 games, and doesn't figure into the Dallas scoring lines this year either.

Lundqvist was promoted mid-season and displayed a nice physical, checking game alongside Stu Barnes and Jeff Halpern. He earned his spot in the NHL with a solid series against Vancouver in the playoffs, and will start the 2007-08 season on Dallas' third line.
