Condra has established himself as a valuable part of the Senators lineup, having played in all but six games for the team the last two seasons. That being said, his value lies more in his intangibles and presence on the penalty kill than it does in his offensive production. He recorded just six goals and 10 assists last year, so he's really only a viable fantasy option in the deepest leagues.
Condra played all 48 games for the Senators last season, and recorded four goals and eight assists while playing mostly a depth role. That role likely won't change much this season, and while he's still young and could improve his offensive production, he's probably never going to be a great fantasy player.
The second-year forward had a solid, if unspectacular, offensive season in 2011-12, putting up eight goals and 17 assists while posting a strong plus-11 rating in 81 games. Condra is an intelligent hockey player who goes for the smart play rather than the risky one. Ottawa coach Paul MacLean utilized him much on the penalty kill, where Condra ended up notching two shorthanded goals, tying him for second on the Sens. He's a great third or fourth line winger and has earned trust amongst Ottawa’s coaching staff. Condra should be good for close to 10 goals and 20 assists to go along with a solid plus-minus rating in 2012-13.?
Condra played 26 games with the big club last year after being called up on February 15th. He scored six goals and added five assists during that span and then was sent down to Binghamton and helped lead the B-Sens to its first ever Calder Cup championship. A smart, hard-working two-way forward, Condra will likely start the season on Ottawa's third or fourth line, providing the occasional offense, but also spending a good amount of time killing penalties. The 25-year-old winger is thought highly of by Ottawa's management and was rewarded with his first one-way contract at the end of the 2010-11 season. Look for him to score upwards of 15 goals and add 20 assists in what will be his first full NHL season.
Condra will start the 2010-11 season playing for Ottawa's AHL affiliate in Binghamton. He has some offensive upside but figures to be, at best, a 3rd or 4th line checker. He's likely a year or two away from cracking the big club.
Condra had a very strong rookie camp this year and should see a lot of time on one of the top two lines with Ottawa's AHL affiliate in Binghamton. He's a big, fast forward with some nice offensive potential. It'll be a year or two before he gets a shot at playing with the big club though.
