ANALYSIS
The Danish winger only saw 31 career NHL games between the Canucks and Rangers, and it seems like his patience wore out, as he failed to secure a stable role at the highest level despite being Vancouver's first-round (29th overall) pick in the 2011 draft. Still, we figure he'll be able to make an impact overseas as a 6-foot-3, 216-pound power winger.

Jensen impressed in 17 games with the Canucks last season, recording three goals and six points to go with a minus-1 rating. The 21-year-old saw 15:38 of ice time per game, including almost two minutes of man-advantage time. The Swedish prospect was recalled from AHL Utica in early March and played well enough to remain on the roster for the remainder of the season. He had tallied 15 goals and 21 points in 54 games with Utica prior to the call-up. Jensen will challenge for a roster spot this season, likely competing with fellow prospects Hunter Shinkaruk, Dane Fox and Brendan Gaunce. Jensen isn’t likely to make any major fantasy impact this season, but keeper leaguers should certainly know his name.
According to most scouts, Jensen is the best prospect in the Canucks’ system. The 20-year-old winger is a speedy, highly-skilled offensive player with upside for top-six duty in the near future. Those skills only resulted in four points in 20 appearances with Chicago of the AHL last season, but the Canucks expect him to be much more productive once given a chance at a long-term gig in the NHL. Neither Chris Higgins nor David Booth have lit the world on fire since joining the Canucks, so there’s a chance Jensen could carve out a role with the team during training camp. He’s worth keeping on your radar in keeper and re-draft leagues.
Jensen is one of the most exciting prospects in the Canucks’ system. The 2011 first-round pick has put together back-to-back stellar seasons in the OHL, totaling 106 points (54 G, 62 A) in 118 games. The 19-year old winger is done with the Junior circuit and has already stated his desires to play for the Canucks or Stockholm AIK of the Swedish Elite League in 2012-13. He’s considered a longshot to make the Canucks’ roster out of camp, but stranger things have happened. If the highly-skilled finese winger defies the odds and makes Vancouver’s roster, he could be one of the better young sleepers to target.
The Canucks' 2011 first-round pick is a highly-skilled winger out of Denmark. He's considered somewhat of a project, but Jensen possesses all of the necessary tools to develop into a high-scoring winger. At 18 years old, he'll likely need a couple of development years before joining the Canucks, though players in deep keeper leagues should already start thinking about nabbing Jensen.
