RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Marc-Andre Bourdon.
Bourdon saw very limited ice time in 2012-13 after suffering two concussions. The defenseman had decent numbers in his first stint with the Flyers in 2011-12, posting a modest plus-four rating and netting four goals in 45 games. If he can make the Flyers' roster, you can likely expect similarly modest production.
Bourdon made his NHL debut with the Flyers last season, managing a plus-4 and 52 PIMs over 45 games. The Flyers are a team with great defensive depth and he’s unlikely to skate on one of their top two defensive pairs with any consistency this season. Expect low point production, high PIMs, and a slightly above average plus-minus if Bourdon can manage to stick with the Flyers for a good portion of the season. A potentially season-long injury to Andrej Meszaros (achilles) could lead to an increased role for the young Bourdon.
Bourdon tallied 19 points and 53 PIMs in the AHL last season, and is likely to repeat the level again this season.
