Mirnov is currently playing in the KHL for Mytishchi Atlant and looks likely to stay in Russia for the rest of his career. In two games with Atlant, he did not post a point and suffered a season-ending injury.

Mirnov will play the 2008-09 season for HC Metallurg of the KHL. The season did not begin well for the young winger as he broke his wrist during a pre-season game and is expected to miss the first two months of the year. Mirnov has fantastic offensive skills and there are many who are hoping he comes across the pond to North America sooner rather than later. Only time will tell.

Mirnov is one of the most skilled forwards in Ottawa's system and should make a decent impact when he eventually gets to North America. All indications are that he'll play another year in Russia before coming over to North America in 2008.

Mirnov will play for the Moscow Dynamo of the Russian Superleague in 2006-07.
