Fritsche was selected 47th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by Colorado.
ANALYSIS
Fritsche, the brother of Columbus prospect Dan Fritsche, is a sound two-way performer, who brings his best nightly, and makes those around him better. He led Ohio State in points and assists as a freshman, improving throughout the season, and peaked in the playoffs. The only knock on Fritsche is that he must show he can handle the physical side of the game since he is bit undersized. The Avalanche have added three fine forward prospects in Ryan Stoa, Paul Stastny and Fritsche.

Fritsche scored just 10 points - all assists - in 47 games for the Lake Erie Monsters last season, his third year in the AHL. At 24 years old, he is unlikely to ever graduate to the NHL at this point in his career.
Will be a junior at Ohio State. After an outstanding 45-point freshman season, he scored just 30 points as a sophomore in 2005-06.
