Tochkin put together another solid season in Juniors, totaling 37 points (14 G, 23 A) while playing 39 games split between Medicine Hat and Prince Albert of the WHL. The 21-year old winger has good hands, but is not a strong skater, which will eventually limit his NHL potential if he doesn’t start improving in that area.

Tochin put together another solid season at the WHL level last season, finishing with 64 points (29 G, 35 A) while playing in 70 games split between Everett and the Medicine Hat Tigers. As a result, the 20-year-old winger is expected to see his first action with Chicago of the AHL this year.

Tochkin, 18, was a surprise invite to the Canucks training camp this year after posting 74 points with Everett of the ECHL during the 2008-09 season. As expected, he was an early causality and will report to the Silvertips, but Tochkin is definitely a prospect to watch as he progresses through the Canucks lower levels.
