The 34-year-old Parrish will add a solid veteran presence to Ottawa's farm team in Binghamton, which will have plenty of youngsters beginning their pro careers in 2011-12. Parrish could be called up at some point during the season should Ottawa's lineup suffer some injuries to its forward ranks.
Once upon a time, Parrish and Oleg Kvasha (ya, remember him?) were traded for two young upstarts named Roberto Luongo and Olli Jokinen. He did manage one 60-point season but he hasn't scored 20 goals at any level since 2005-2006. At 33, he's well beyond his NHL best-before date and will toil for the Bolts' AHL squad from this point forward.
Parrish was brought in to the Canucks' training camp to compete for a roster spot, but he looks like a longshot to make the team. The 32-year-old has topped 40 points just once in the past five seasons, so Parrish is cannon fodder in most formats, even if he does manage to stick in Vancouver.
After scoring a career-high 16 power play goals in 2005-06, Parrish returned his usual five power play goals. Talk about putting him on a line with Marian Gaborik and Pavol Demitra never came thorugh, limiting his offensive potential. He is one of the main cogs on the power play which raises his fantasy value.
Parrish could win a job as the left wing on the Demitra-Gaborik line, although Lemaire likes to juggle his lines. He scored a career-high 16 power-play goals last year, so he could become a primary option for the power play with the Wild, who always excel on special teams.
One of the best goal scorers for the Isles over the last three seasons with 77. Will lineup on one of the top two lines once again. Should again hover in the 25 to 30 goal range this season.
