Nolan’s development paused as he missed the 2008-09 season with a concussion. A year before this malady, he had worked for Albany of the AHL, logging 48 points (22G, 24A) in as many games. Obviously he needs to show no lingering effects of the concussion before we are confident that he’ll make any type of impact.

He's probably just off the NHL depth chart. But a solid start could make him one of the first injury callups. If you have loads of minor league draft picks, then he's worth a shot.
