Didn't receive qualifying offer

Hyka, contrary to earlier reports, was not among the Golden Knights players to receive a qualifying offer, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hyka is already signed to play for KHL club Traktor Chelyabinsk next year, but it's still a little surprising Vegas didn't give him an offer in order to retain his rights. The 26-year-old could still be an option for an NHL team down the road, but for now will continue his professional career in Europe.

Hyka was signed by the Golden Knights before the start of their inaugural season and appeared in 10 games for the NHL club. The speedy winger notched three points (one goal) and saw some power-play time. Hyka has been a dynamic scorer at almost every level he's played at and looked good in the AHL last season, but he isn't guaranteed an NHL job in 2018-19. If Hyka can earn a role in Vegas, he could be worth keeping an eye on in some fantasy leagues.
Hyka was the third player inked to a contract by the Golden Knights, signing an entry-level deal after playing in the Czech league this past season. The 24-year-old former sixth-rounder by the Kings is unlikely to crack the roster and will probably wind up in the AHL. Even if he wins a spot with the big club, Hyka’s value will be minimal.
Hyka opened some eyes with a strong debut effort in the QMJHL (20 goals and 44 assists in 50 games) after spending the previous three seasons playing in his native Czech Republic. He was selected by the Kings in the sixth round of the 2012 Entry Draft after being bypassed in his first year of eligibility. He'll need to add some bulk to his slight frame (5-10, 160), but showed some nice offensive skills in the team's development camp over the summer. He'll head back to the QMJHL and look to build on last year's North American debut.
